I am liking sainos and Tesco mini mince pies.

Disagree with clotted cream as a bad accompaniment.

Is that a small plate or a big mincer?

Konditor and Cook mincers are £1.75 each. £12 for 6 or £16 for 12 this year. What is this pricing madness?
Not vegan so I can't even eat them but my wife and my parents have been smashing them this weekend and apparently they are amazing as always.

Punishment of restraint.

As a side note to all you homemade mincemeat fans - the difference between ready-ground cinammon and freshly ground cinnamon quills is truly astounding. So much sweeter and spicier. Be the best mincermaker you can be

First Canadian mincer of the year. Surprisingly good pastry and plenty of filling. It's only fuelled my lust to get stuck into all that are on offer in the homeland.

Bit late to the mincing this year but finally got round to getting a 6 pack from Sainos today. First mincer in the box the lid came straight off whilst still in the foil!!!!!!! To reconcile the disappointment I ate 2 more

Looks like mincin' is the new golf

Tesco standard mince pies: what is this bullshit? Tiny, minimal filling, pastry disintegrates just from being looked at. If I was paranoid I’d say they’ve purposely made them shit to force you to fork out for the luxury ones.

Obvs I ate half the pack, but I had to
microwave them and serve them with a dollop of Greek yoghurt to make them less shit. -

Where I live we have bbbbbbadman yoghurt that comes from Rochdale but the thought of putting it on a mincer is a bit Euro. The scene equivalent of wearing white cycling shorts.

I’d never put yoghurt on a quality mince pie, but an inferior specimen is fair game for whatever accompaniment happens to be available

First crop. Pastry could have been better, but they went down a storm accompanying Jingle All the Way

Looks more like a pork pie than a mince pie...

First batch from the mother load.
Pretty good, pastry was 2.2mm thick need to go sub 2.0mm to get it right.

No that's vegetable fat, named vegetable suet.
Its perfectly good for most things, but it just doesn't have the same texture and flavour as beef suet.
I guess its really down to personal preference. Bit like some people say the vegetarian Percy Pigs aren't the same as the normal ones. They're right of course, but doesn't mean the veggie ones are crap.
