Irony of it all is that pies are being sold from the end of October but M&S is the only place to have got any brandy cream for sale.
M & S Extra thick with fig is fucking amazing.

having my first of the season - damn, earlier every year! M&S luxury - quite a flavoursome piece - quite alcoholic tasting (faux probably) - 6/10

Costco do a mince pie that I am a big fan of. It isn't particularly traditional in that it has a layer of sponge cake on the top, but this carries a dash of cream superbly once heated through.

I once told people that I love mince pies so much that I could live purely off them for a week. They called bullshit and I did it to prove them wrong.
Felt horrible, but I still love them. -

Lidl's have a tasty looking range of Christmassy foodstuffs with things like spices, marzipan, nuts and booze in them. There's just no way I can justify buying these for myself in October.

6 mince pies and a whole tub of soured cream. Feeling a bit rough now.

I could do a mince pie right now. I really could.
My mate's wife lifts the pastry lid, chucks in a blob of brandy butter and nukes them for 30secs.
Fucking magic.
-
• #143
Fuck yeah, getting me some of that magic and some port on the way home!

• #144
Is there a mince pie ride yet? Just skidding around with a hip flask and some pastry - possibly moving from supermarket to bakery in search of the perfect pie? Home made efforts welcome etc.

Check this out:
It's only a few miles from my house. The steam train chugs sedately through the Yorkshire countryside, past the station where The Railway Children was filmed, and the carriages are all tinsilled up to the nines. Santa gives out mince pies to all and sundry and there's a real ale carriage serving top quality locally brewed, hand pulled pints.
With one ticket you can stay on all day if you want, getting fatter and fatter and drunker and drunker.
Steam beats cycling in this case. -

This is the ONLY way to eat them.
Brandy butter also needs to be carefully made. 50:50 Butter and icing suger, pinch of mixed spice, slowly add brandy until reach critical saturation point before curdling.

One disagrees; a sliver of stilton inserted under the lid, then nuked - perfect balance of cloying spiced sweetness and savoury tang
I approve of this thread dredge. I was in the supermarket earlier, can't believe I didn't think to stock up.
