  • My friend owns that place, a thali a day will keep the doctor away. Try the vegan brownie. Here's us testing our soundsytem in the shop after hours.

Want to try make balady on the way home for falafel, also good for dinner but not today (sabbath)

  • Haha this is awesome!

I miss House of Momo now I don't live 5 mins walk away, the chilli momo is fucking great.

  • That looks great! Perfect placement as well. Cheers!

  • Soundsystem looks great!

  • I had zads tonight. Didn't ask about the future...

  • Where's good to get something quick and easy around Shoreditch? I remember getting a great dosa somewhere on Brick Lane years ago, something like that'd be ideal.
Also, House of Momo was great, thanks for the suggestion @Cazakstan!

  • What's happened to Cook Daily? The web-site doesn't seem to contain any info. If it's still at Boxpark, that's worth going to.

There's a place called Vegan Yes in Brick Lane that does vegan 'Italian and Korean fusion'. I've always wanted to go there, but still haven't. It does sound interesting.

The only other place I've been to is the Canvas Café. I got there very late for a games evening and they'd already banked down the kitchen, but they gave me something that was really good. I can't remember what it was, though.

I've hardly been in that area in the last few years. There must be loads of other places.

  • Cook Daily is closed Oliver but he’s coming back.

Best place to keep tabs is on Instagram

  • Thanks, I thought it might be. Not an option for ltc, then.

  • Italian and Korean fusion sounds "interesting", ha ha.
Canvas Café sounds good but maybe the sort of place you'd want to spend a bit of time, rather than nipping in and out before a gig.

  • I've not managed to go yet, but there's halo burger, but it's more towards Old Street.

  • The Italian/Korean fusion place used to have a stall in a small market between Holloway and Seven Sisters Road as well some three years ago. Very friendly people, it's a (surprise surprise) Italian-Korean couple.
Think I had a kimchi lasagna or something along those lines. Was good but wasn't blown away.

  • Halo is a good shout actually!

  • Oh glad you like it, I have momo fomo 😆

  • What the pitta in boxpark for doner meat and chips and all the sauces..

  • ^would second this. Most of the Brick Lane curry places do plenty of vegan options. Often walked past Vegan Yes, but the phrase 'Italian Korean fusion' has never inspired me...

Went to Mildred's in Camden yesterday for the first time in a while - excellent and always dog-friendly, but the best bit was the spiced pineapple negroni - was hard to limit myself to just one.

  • That'll learn 'em.

  • haha

  • I bet the owner of that van is a really interesting and charming person!

  • It's clearly a false-flag from those militant vegans/cyclists I keep hearing about.

  • I’ve just finished reading Ed Winters book ‘This is Vegan Propaganda’ and now I would like to read a little deeper.

Does anyone have any recommendations for books on the subject of how the UK supplies it’s food demands? Where our food comes from, how a farm functions (who owns the land, subsidies, who buys the produce), imports/exports etc.

  • I’ve got some ripe bananas to use. Looking recipe recommendations - bread/cookies/flapjacks etc?
