I wonder if they'll turn one of the two Shoreditch shops into one of these. Although they do already carry a lot of vegan stuff so I'm not sure how different it would actually be.
Also wonder if they'll start stocking up this stuff at the Leyton warehouse. That would be ace.

They already do, and have done for a while now- definitely worth checking out

Yeah, it was one of the Shoreditch ones I passed yesterday.
Was on the way to Spread Eagle - the roasts were decent, but the service was a bit ropey. Friendly enough, they just kept forgetting stuff we'd ordered. But at least two of the people who served us were on their first day, and they're clearly not used to being open and busy, so will cut them some slack.

Already do what? Stock the veg stuff at the warehouse? They have for ages, but it's not been (in my experience) as large of a selection as what you get in the shops, weirdly. If that's changed that would be great!

Nice. It wasn't listed on the webpage Oliver linked, but will pop down sometime this week and check out how much it's changed!

top tip. are they vegan friendly in there? Have a bunch of snacks / beers and wines that are vegan?
-
• #9058
Most of their beers are from Brick or Laines. I know the Brick ones are (unless it's the sours then you have to check). They have an online ordering app that lists fish if it has been used, the app wasn't working yesterday though. They only had roasts on yesterday so not sure what other foods they have and I didn't look at the wine list. The vegan Yorkshires are made by the owners friend.

Got some of the Dug potato milk stuff. Tried barista version so far, seems to work well in coffee. Maybe a bit heavy on the oil.

Also... happy Greggs sausage, beans and cheeze bake day!

Finally made it to Tofu Vegan on Upper Street. Found out it's the same people as Xi'an Impressions, which is cool. What we had was delicious and I really wanted to order more. Well worth a visit. Will definitely go back.

Verdict? Is it sheeze?

Had roofers round so didn't get out! Will try again tomorrow...

Not bad. More of a whiff of sausage than anything else - pretty cheesy and pastry was better cooked than the sausage rolls

It's shitting it down in Manchester and my foot is fucked so got Greggs delivered to the shop for lunch, liking the bean/cheese/sausage, like everything it's better with some hot sauce, but pretty good without.

Does somebody have a good recipe / link for proper vegan cornbread?

Had the Gregg's thing today. It was alright. Not, thankfully, sheesey. The steak bake is still my favourite offering. But to have the options at a petrol station in Weymouth was a bit amazing.

In place of a holiday we’ve treated ourselves to another Gauthier Vegan box. The box next Friday has a free bottle of wine too! If anyone wants a referral code for £10 off let me know. https://www.gauthierhome.co.uk/

I went to Omni in Peckham tonight for an anniversary meal after hearing lots of good stuff about it. It was nice but I was a little bit underwhelmed to be honest! It was a lot of money for something that was decent but not particularly memorable. I understand they update their menu fairly regularly but I'm not sure I'll be rushing back.

Naifs is opening again this weekend. Is along the lines of Omni but has a cheaper menu and the owners are super lovely.

I'll have to give it a go! Thanks for the recommendation.

Went to a posh hotel restaurant for dinner the other night, ordered from the vegan menu and got dairy cheese on the starter and dairy ice cream on the dessert 🤔

I've been waiting for Vergine Maria, the new vegan pizzeria from Santa Maria, to open, but its opening date has been pushed back to the 1st of October. It turns out that Vergine Maria will actually be at the location of the original Santa Maria, that is next to the Leone Rosso pub on St Mary's Road. I hadn't realised that before and thought it would be somewhere else in Ealing.

Here it is being refurbished:
Had a banging vegan roast at the Old Nuns Head yesterday
