But no B12 either.
Just do keep the dialogue on track, B12 is made by bacteria. That bacteria lives in soil and in animals guts, also in insects, but the intensive use of pesticides is also killing the bacteria in the soil so you get less from non organic foods. So one can get it from eating dirty food, and drink unclean water, or snacking on insects.
Humans also have the bacteria in the gut that produces B12, but it is produced lower in our gut than where we absorb it, so in order to sustain ourselves we would have to eat our own feces.
So dirt, bugs or feces vs. a supplement.

Ah, I popped into one yesterday to see if it was there. Never mind, stocked up on mincers while they're still doing them and had a sausage roll instead...

Happy new year people... something that's been on my mind lately... would any of you consider, or have, bought vintage clothing that's made of wool etc? What jeans do you all wear, would you buy a pair of jeans with a leather label on them?

For me, second hand stuff doesn't count but runs the risk of awkward conversations trying to explain nuances to people who are desperate to find fault

Just had one of the Greggs steak bakes. Was alright, reminds me a bit of a really cheap mince and onion pie. At least, what I vaguely remember that being like. Would recommend but it wasn't amazing.

I just had a vegan steak bake too. I was relieved to find it wasn't "steaky" but more salty. It's got its place and I will eat them but I rate the sausage rolls higher I think.

On the sausage roll front, Wentzels(sp?) and Wild Bean Cafe(in BP petrol stations) offerings are both vastly superior to the Greggs version. The wild bean one has sweet chilli sauce in it. Nom.

I wouldn't buy anything made of wool or leather, even if it was vintage, but understand why people would. I've only really become aware of the leather patch issue on jeans in the last year, and haven't bought any since - will definitely be aiming to avoid leather - don't know how easy it'll be to find them using my normal shopping strategy (the cheapest ones at TK Maxx that fit). I'm never knowingly fashionable, so not at all bothered if I have to have uncool jeans. Line drawn at dungarees though.

I had the Wild Bean one the other day, it really is good!

I wouldn't buy a leather jacket, vintage or not as I've never really been a big fan... I'd love a vintage Peacoat one day but held back on buying one... I have bought jeans on the past with leather patches, cut off the leather and sent them back to the company to be used on another pair of jeans, although when I first went vegan, I wouldn't have even done that.

I buy one pair of chainsaw boots every 18month, they’re made of leather. Simple fact is the only pair of non-leather chainsaw boots currently on the market simply do not fit the shape of my feet and were agony. After 3 months of blisters and them simply not breaking-in at all I decided to give up the hair shirt and buy a pair of the same boots I’ve worn for my whole career.
Do I feel guilty? Yes, of course I do.
At the end of the day I wear my boots anything up to 14hrs a day sometimes and have to be able to do my job :/I don’t buy wooly jumpers and the last 2 times I’ve bought jeans(Volcom & Prana) they’ve had cloth labels.
I do my best but I try not to beat myself up about the things I can’t control..

Just tried the steak bake, liked it but would agree it's not amazing. Was hoping for more 'steaky' really.

It's hard to be 100%, especially if you need to have a good sturdy pair of boots for work... I've waited ages to find the right pair for me, I wanted something like Red Wings, but I can't see them ever doing vegan friendly due to popularity.

I was close to buying a mohair jumper because i liked the design but then did some research and yeh no mohair for me.
Leather is the same / fake fair - its buying a look. So even if it appears to be real - your still advertising the real thing in a sense.

• #7246
Is the steak bake made from Quorn again?
-
• #7247
yep!

Shame. If only they’d embrace something less grim.

The KFC vegan chicken burger is too. Meh

Has anyone tried the KFC burger? I'm unlikely to*, but still curious on whether it's good or not.
*my guess is that KFC kill more animals than any other fast food company on earth - would that be right?
New Greggs Meatless Steak Bake to arrive in shops today apparently.
