Thanks very much for that - looks like 164 is near our office, so will try it for lunch. Won't have the bike with me, unfortunately, but will try one of those other options in the evening...

I tried the Oomph kebab stuff, it's great. Can pick it up in tescos frozen section.

The actual city centre is very small so most places are walkable on a lunch break! If you're in that neck of the woods the market isn't far either.

Oh if you're here between Thursday and Saturday Wharf Chambers has very reasonably priced pop up vegan food on. Normally vegan fried chicken. That's my favourite bar in Leeds so would recommend checking it out, they have a good selection of soft drinks as well if you don't drink.

Ha ha, they also have some decent beers! The draught stuff is ropey so stick to bottles/cans. Also, if you want a pint of Sam Smiths for £2.30, The Angel off of Briggate is worth checking out. Just don't expect too many teeth amongst the aging clientele.

Quorn Ultimate Burger. Their version of Beyond Meat 'Bleeding' style. Avoid like the plague, I dont know what's going on here but the after taste is really not nice. I was absolutely famished earlier and I couldn't finish it. Mrs EB thought the after taste was a herb or spice she couldn't put her finger on, I thought it just tasted musty like the smell of an old wooden chest drawer. Disgusting.

Cumin comes to mind?

Ended up at Knave's Kitchen - very good junk food, thanks for the tip! Was too busy in the days to go anywhere for lunch, other than grabbing a sausage roll from Gregg's opposite the office.

Arcteryx synthetic stuff is the dogs bollocks. Check out Atom LT / Atom AR, they’re kind of an insulated active mid/outer layer aimed at climbing and the like, but they’re just all round amamzing jackets.

You can't really move for Greggs in Leeds. This is truly the promised land.

They look great! Might have to go pick some donuts up.

If anyone is over in Dorset this summer, Feed The Soul is open for cocktail evenings and tasty grub on Fridays for the next month and a bit. In Godmanstone, near Dorchester. Can recommend.

I just saw that there's a pop-up vegan pub in Great Eastern Street at the moment. It seems to be supposed to end in September. As it's quite central, it might suit people for some vegan drinks in the foreseeable future? I'd be up for it. They do burgers, too.

Tried the Violife fake feta. Hmm. Oily, not so great.

I rated it personally but couldn't have too much it's true.

Cycled past this the other day - would be very interested in checking it out.

Great, what dates would be good for you?

I prefer the Bute island one, pretty good kind of crumbled into salads.

Ah, ta.

They have really upped their game in the last few years. I never used to like Sheese much, but it's got a lot better.

I’ve only been in the game a short time, but generally find the Bute Island sheeses to be better than violife. Hopefully they'll keep improving things, as if I’m honest there’s still a way to go to really get cheesy!
Oh also, if you happen to be here on a Thursday night the Leeds Fixed Gear lot have a social ride leaving from Hyde Park Book Club (which also has vegan options) at around 7/7.30
