I went to 6 different Greggs to find a vegan sausage roll and they were all sold out. It's worth noting that this is in Leeds and the whole expedition only took me about 5 minutes, I'm not some sort of pastry crazed lunatic.

No need to cover up for yourself... if I had 6 Greggs in my area I'd be prowling night and day!

Are the Greggs ones as good as Linda McCartneys?

Whitechapel Gregg's had stacks of them today, but confirmed that mincers are done for this year.
They're very good, on a par with Linda's. 8/10, would smash again.

What is so special about the Greggs sausage roll anyway ?
Its only a vegan sausage wrapped in pastry - something easily knocked up at home. -
• #5835
Those aren’t bad actually
-
• #5836
Holy shit... they're few and far between here!
-
• #5837
Mad one going on tour there.

Nothing too special, but they're available for a quid from the local bakery when you want one. Nice to have a bit of not meat snack food available in places and hopefully places will figure out there's demand for it and there'll be more to come.

Hopefully they reach the wilderness here soon enough then.

For those in/visiting Exeter, had a great lunch in Rabbit Vegan Cafe today - https://www.rabbitvegancafe.co.uk/
Fried 'chicken' seitan burger and borlotti bean burger served with ace salads and fries. Milkshake was amazing too, and took home some takeaway cakes as had no room after the burgers!
Would defo go back.

Would I be able to use a bit of almond milk to reduce the amount of sour cream I need for a mushroom stroganoff?
Cheers

available for a quid
Yes this.
As someone said recently - why does something that has no egg ,dairy or meat in it cost as much or more than something that does ? -

It's Quorn, not a carrot.
And the big deal about it is that another of the high street's biggest names has noticed that there's money to be made in providing vegan choices. Every time this happens, it gets a bit easier to eat plant-based foods, and we get a little bit closer to outlawing meat forever.

You were replying to me who was talking about the sausage rolls, after I replied to you, who had specifically mentioned the sausage rolls and sainsbury alternatives, in reply to me mentioning the sausage rolls. I can see why he thought you might be referencing the sausage rolls.

How angry were you before you turned vegan?
Yeah, there's one in the arndale food court and I was gonna go last year kinda just out of interest one lunch time but never did as I don't like the arndale, or it's food court even more. I'm not too fussed about the one round the corner, food on the website looks shite.
