  • Er ... as in the other thread, which area? :)

  • I like Itadakizen, vegan Japanese in King's Cross.

  • I'm going to Pollen Street Social in a few weeks and understand they have a vegan tasting menu. Has anyone been? Worth it?

  • Central, east, or south east, but ultimately not bothered, aslong as we can get there and its good food and a nice place :)

  • That sounds interesting, I'll check it out!

  • +1 for itadakizen^

Can anyone recommend a chocolate recovery powder similar to the SIS one that is vegan?

  • @edmundro
Tried your snosage rolls yesterday evening. They were awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  • Similar question to @Joeboat - Chocolate milk alternatives? It's pretty much the only thing I ever crave and hard to stop myself after a long run! I've had the Rebel Kitchen chocolate Mylk which is really good and oddly refreshing-yet-chocolatey but not cheap* and not quite got that crave-satisfying taste.

*Should be fairly easy to make something similar at home, really should get around to trying a recipe!

  • Phd protien powder stuff is vegan, made with hemp i think. Not the greatest tasting but not rank.

https://www.phd-supplements.com/products/protein-powders/protein-superfood-1272.html can get it from holland and barretts

  • Vega make a chocolate protein powder, not tried it but if their vanilla one is anything to go by it's gonna be good

  • Chocolate Sun Warrior protein is rank. Don’t get that. Plain is fine tho.

  • Not protein packed but Oatly do a chocolate milk... not tried it, but their barista edition makes great hot chocolate so would expect good things

  • The choc one is rad, bung it in the blender with a banana and you’re living the dream.

  • Both Alpro and Oatly (and M&S??) do chocolate milks. All are palatable, but I'm not a connoisseur of the stuff. The alpro banana milk is delicious (in that cheap, fake-banana-flavour kind of way) though. Too bad it's only sold in tiny cartons. :(

  • Isn't Sun Warrior stupidly expensive as well?

  • Yeah it is. LadyLiz got a deal on it at a yoga weekend, think she paid a tenner for a tub that’s normally £40.
On that note we need a new plain protein: what’s cheap and comes in a barrel that fits an anything cage well? Pretty handy to have those barrels on hand for soggy bikepacking trips....

  • Wow, that was pretty damn good... I've nearly finished my whole fuel from my protein, that was nice... didn't bung me up like others have :)

  • I've been using the plain pea protein from Pulsin, with Mork hot chocolate. The Mork stuff is a bit difficult to get hold of, but it is DELICIOUS and makes amazing brownies. The Oatly chocolate milk is also killer.

  • Can anyone recommend somewhere for smart vegan shoes? Brogue style ideally...

  • I have several pairs of Wills Vegan Shoes and am very happy with them
    https://wills-vegan-shoes.com

  • The Third Estate on Brecknock Rd has a pretty solid selection

  • I just discovered vegan chainsaw boots exist. That’s my next pair of boots sorted.

  • Wills do some wicked formal stuff. I have brogues and boots from there, very hard wearing and look the business.

  • Yep, another one for Wills here... had a pair for years now and they're great... wish he'd make some mock toe boots like Red Wings

  • Wills looks great, cheers all.
