Can anyone recommend me some good leather-free shoes? My rather particular requirements are:
Comfortable to walk a few miles in (no hard resin soles/heels.
Supple
Durable
Understated styling. Eg not full blown walking boots or flashy trainers.I've tended to wear Converse style pumps but I go through the heels far too fast and am on the lookout for something as comfy but more durable.

We were in there the other day! Starters were a bit much of a muchness, but small and large plates were delish. Not that expensive either.
Vegan philly cheesesteak pizza... mmm

Have a look at some approach shoes. Should be some fully synthetic ones to take your fancy. I'm keen on Evolv Cruzers

Thanks. I had no idea approach shoes were a thing. Will definitely look into them further.

Wills vegan shoes. Have boots and brogues from there. Both excellent.

I'm partial to Vivo barefoot. Some of their range is vegan.

Yeah I've got some formal shoes from Wills and they're great, but the hard soles do my ankles in if I walk more than a mile or so in them. They are very pretty though.

How durable do you find them? I like a minimalist shoe but I have a feeling I'd destroy the ultra thin soles in about a month.

I think they're really durable. I don't cycle in them, but wear them all the time off the bike. Seem to last ages. The last ones I had, the upper had some holes after a couple of years but the sole was still fine.

Ha, that looks good. Hope it becomes a series. I probably won't be able to go to this one, though.
Of the other food people I know ToS (obviously), Pomodoro e Basilico, and Cook Daily, and can recommend them all for different reasons.

We made miso stew with seitan. It was the fucking business.
Also went to cookdaily at boxpark on Monday, was heaving in there which can only be a good sign. Had jerk with puff tofu, was pretty damn amazing.

Help me out.
Where can I get vegan marshmallows that are big enough to toast over a fire? -
• #4045
Hard to find. I guess making them would be easy enough..

How big is big enough to toast them over a fire? I assume you've already found these, as they come up easily when searching, but I had these a few years ago:
(I liked their wagon wheels a lot more than the marshmallows, but the marshmallows weren't bad.)

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't found those actually. I'd not done any Googling, just popped into some wholefood shops. I'll order some of those and the wagon wheels.

I got the ones from holland and barrett, which worked well over a fire!

Anyone been to Cafe Van Gogh on Brixton road?

Jim and some of the folks from Brixton Cycles go there a fair bit, he seems to like it! I haven't made it yet tho.
Aha. Not on fb but I'll check. Cheers
