  • I think they're only open for brunch tomorrow, last week it was rammed from when the doors opened and sold out not long after. Maybe call ahead if you're coming from far away.

  • Yeah, as above their opening times are a but strange. Well worth the trip though!

We had the reuben, the colonel, the Buffalo crispy chicken things and an extra portion if fries.

    The C-bombs sound interesting too!

  • Better than good! We'll be returning a lot I think!

  • Also while I'm on south east veggie/vegan recommendations. If you haven't been to Taco queen in rye wax/bussy building then you need to put that straight ASAP.

Got introduced to it once last summer as my mate used to work with one half of the couple who run it and have been countless times since, I have tried pretty much everything on the menu (unless of course they have added new meat dishes since I turned veggie) but the fried avacado does it for me every time.

Cheap too 2 (maybe 3 tacos if you're feelin greedy) will do most.

  • hahaha what the fuck 😂 Hendo's is the best. Need to restock.

  • Is there anywhere in the Walthamstow/Wanstead/chingford/Far East ish area that does a vegan pub lunch or pizza?
Bumped into a long lost friend in sainos last week, arranged to go for lunch on mon and can't see her being into somewhere like Hornbeam cafe..
Am working on the assumption her and her fella are omnivore so wouldn't want to force veginess upon them!

  • Hi I don't know of any vegan pizza places here but Tiffin Tin in Wanstead deliver and sell vegan dishes.

  • That's good to know!
On a slightly related note I was in the m40 services at Beaconsfield today and noticed the chain Indian takeaway there also has vegan dishes which is good to know for shitty long car journeys assuming they're at other services too

  • In Walthamstow Yard sale pizza on Hoe St does vegan cheese, Buhler and Co on Chingford Rd is nice and super vegan friendly

If you want a pub, get down to a Toby Carvery!

  • Tesco are now joining Sainsbury's and Asda ( AKA Associated Dairies ) in labelling vegan food.

  • Yard sale delivery for tea tonight now! Thanks for the recommend.
Have eaten either side of Buhler & co so will pop in asap

  • National fish and chip day. Any vegan fake fish chippies out there?

You can also go to Norman's Coach and Horses in Soho. They do a version, too.

  • What the Pitta returning to Shoreditch:

I think @Bea told me about this--they're in the same little quadrangle as Cook Daily and Home.

  • Anyone been to Haunt in Stoke Newington since it went vegan? Any good?

  • I tried to make coconut yogurt, the recipe I used was creamed coconut and probiotic tablets but it tastes gross.

Has anyone had success with homemade yoghurt? Got £10 of tablets to put to use...

  • Not tried yogurt but got some cultures to make cashew brie... will report back...

  • I look forward to hearing how this goes. And if it's good please share the recipe.

  • I discovered this in sainos today. Massively overpriced but delicious. I really miss those little cups of cold coffee from the corner shop.

  • ^um, what?

Anyway, just been reported that Amazon is buying Whole Foods Mkt. Shit news for anyone boycotting Amazon for their stinking business practices and tax affairs.

  • ^^ wat?
^ that sucks, generally go to planet organic anyway but good to know.

2 months ish into being vegan now. All is good. Guy I was working with today insisted on showing me pics from his recent boar-hunting trip to Germany. Wac.

  • It has been answered before but where is good for vegan junk food in Berlin? I'm here until Monday.

  • Voner
    Yellow Sunshine
    Brammibals donuts
    Delores for buritos

    Dada falafel was also good.

There's loads of rad not-junk food too.

  • Ace, thanks. I've seen the posher healthy stuff, just looking for some balance, haha.
