Highly recommend his book Eat & Run - a running autobiography with recipes, basically.
He's won every race worth doing in ultrarunning many times. Also, he's not an utter arse (for anyone who's suffered a Dean Karnazes book).

I read that recently, bit repetitive but overall quite interesting. Recipes have been good so far, the chilli is bloody massive!

I'd love to but probably won't be able to make it. What time will you be there, just in case?
-
• #2533
Be there at about 5.20 for a bit.

Propose one or more dates!

In other news, I wonder if they will be open on the morning of Sunday the 21st August:
That's the date of the Exmouth Exodus, and it would be lovely to go for a vegan breakfast there. :)

I finally move up here on the 20th, GF goes away on the 27th so it might be a tad easier after then... can we do a half six meet again as I can't really do it any earlier

Did you do this last year? Looks like a fun ride

Ecover washing up soap isn't vegan, which i found surprising. Just a head's up in case anyone here uses it.

Yes, do propose a date. We can either discuss it here or in a separate thread.

I've done it twice, in 2007 and 2009. It's a great ride, and although I have to say I preferred the Bristol start (it's moved to Bath since), I want to do it again. I've never had time in the last few years.
I'm wondering if I should try to combine it with a little cycling holiday down into Cornwall this year.

Ok cool, how about 2nd March? I'm free all that week in fact apart from Friday
-
• #2547
I can't do the 2nd, as I have a meeting that evening. First Wednesdays are never good for me. I can't do Tuesday, either, but Monday or Thursday would be fine. The week after that is clearer for me. Doesn't depend on me, of course, if it's good for everybody else.

Monday and Thursday are good for me too Oliver... anyone else?

That I didn't know!
Really interesting Radio 4 programme on running at the weekend http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06tq3tk featured Scott Jurek a vegan ultra distance runner. He talks about how becoming vegan made him a better athlete. Better still his website has some interesting recipes. I'd never heard of him before (having sopped running years ago due to bad knees) but I quite fancy trying some of the food.
