Good, let's say 11 at Lock 7? Is that OK with you, Jamie and Shelby?

  • Yep see you there Oliver!

  • okay, vegan food photo spam time for anyone remotely interested.

the waffles at lock 7 were good if a bit dry:

    the hot dogs were INSANE:

and then i also went to Mildred's last night and got what i always get (mushroom and ale pie):

and a peanut butter chocolate brownie (dessert swag):

also a weekend fry-up at home:

moar lfgss vegan food bike hangs soon!

  • Ha. Wot, no Kinoko coffee picture?

    #instagramallthethings

and then i also went to Mildred's last night and got what i always get (mushroom and ale pie):

Do they say which vegan ale they use?

  • I quite like that pie in Mildreds. Not 100% gone on the mushy peas though. I prefer petit pois.

Is there any vegan naan breads?

  • ^^^ You need to butter that toast while it's hot!

  • yeah i dropped the ball on that, shameful. i was probably too excited about breakfast to multi-task.

oliver i don't recall seeing a specific ale being mentioned...

I seem to recall they mint their mushy peas. Bloody southerners! (Still v nice though)

  • Thanks again for pointing me in the direction of the Veganomicon - it's ace!

Big thanks too from my girlfriend as it's had the addedd bonus of me farting a lot less too. Result.

  • Christmas without Cruelty Fayre this year:

    Anyone else going? I am.

  • ^ I'd like to go. What time are you planning to get there, Oliver?

  • Yes, definitely in!

  • Alex, I don't have any particular plans, but I suppose earlier is better. I hear the queues in the morning are very long, but also quite social. :) I'd aim to get there for 10 or 11. I can't spot any talks that interest me particularly--it looks as if the programme is smaller this year than it usually is, so I don't think I want to go to any of those.

  • definitely drop by and see me then! i'll be there all day.

i'd advise anyone going to get there before 2 as it's positively hellish after that. my only other advice is make sure you absolutely rinse the free food

  • Cool, let's make it early, then. 10 or 11, anyone?

  • Oh, and afterwards we could ride all the way across London to go to the Vulpine thing:

    http://www.lfgss.com/thread117451.html

  • 10.30? Are we just going to meet there or? I think we will be coming from more or less the same direction so can meet up beforehand and head over together.

Sounds good, I wanted to check out the Vulpine Cyclogames as well.

  • Beyonce and Jay Z are trying to be vegan for three weeks to see how it goes.

Hope that they arent dismissive of it at the end. Normally I dont care much about celebrities but exposure / publicity for the cause is always good.

Oops, sorry, Shelby, forgot to reply. 10:30 is fine by me. Where can you think of that would be good for meeting up? We did LMNH Old Street for the ride south, but that would be a fair bit out of our way for this ride, unless others wanted to join in?

  • anyone recommend anything interesting in the Kentish Town area? Open on a Sunday. cheers

  • Do you mean for vegan food, Jonny?

I'm afraid I don't know that area too well--there are a couple of places in Camden, but I think the nearest quality vegan restaurant is in Archway (Loving Hut). Here are the London Vegans listings:

    http://www.veganlondon.co.uk/eat/

I think these should be quite up-to-date, but it doesn't look as if there's a lot in Kentish Town.

  • anywhere i can pick up some vegan cakes tomorrow around central london/ st james'/victoria?

  • Ha, another area I don't really know, so can't help, sorry. :)

Vegan bakeries are multiplying, but I'd be surprised if there was one in that area. There must be one that does some vegan cakes, though.

You can now get your cakes delivered by Ms Cupcake, as no doubt lucyh would have informed you if she'd seen your post before me:

  • thanks oliver. yes, i mean vegan food. i know the loving hut and that works well for me but not all of the party will be on bikes so just trying to keep it really local to KT as we are going to comedy at the Forum
