SON is coming with a light/charger combo:

But some time in 2024... -

Amazing, been looking for something like this for my tourer.
-
• #4654
yes!
- low/high beam with 120 lux
- sleek SON design / good form factor
- easy to install (no box/battery to install somewhere)
- embedded battery and powerful enough for recent mobile phones (1.5A)
Almost too good to be true, no one pulled it out yet!
If it comes at less than 250€ it is a winner...
- low/high beam with 120 lux

oh great point, thanks! I think I will end up mounting it on the handlebars because my fork crown isnt drilled at the front unfortunately.
-

Son edelux and supernova also have (strict) upside down versions. But IQ-X is half the price and can be reverted to normal mounting.
Alternatively in the previous pages there are examples with back of the crown mounting, or below the crown attachments.

cool. I hope they remove all the branding on the light tho.

B&M have had a light with switch and USB for years if you can live without the uber powerful blinding light

not sure that's legal on electric devices..

I’ve got one of these, the high/low function is fun in the dark, haven’t actually used the usb yet

I think the Luxos might be discontinued anyway.
This looks amazing, coming in 2024, 3 times brighter than the IQ-X.

The Luxos U has a terrible reputation for failure though. Plus the arrangement for the handlebar button went through 3 different revisions (plug in, captive, captive with a spindly dangly USB socket) none of which were good. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy one, especially out of warranty.
Maybe SON will get it right.

Luxos was also aesthetically way too big, like ridiculously big.
here compared to a Cyo
-
• #4665
Yeah, looks terrible, but it gives this serious cyclist before it was cool vibes!
-
• #4666
This looks ugly and great at the same time.
What I really like about bumm, and what unfortunately not everyone does, are the big side visibility holes. I'll take all the stuff that makes me visible from the side. -
• #4667
I don't really care how they look, most of it is better than the clumsy SON or Exposure design but they keep coming out with badly designed products that fail and that's a shame because there is
not much competition of you want high light output. For rear light there is at least Spanninga. -

you also need to be into oversize things:
I get it that for some people it is function over form, but I assume if someone is on this forum, he or she has some sort of love for his or her bike!

That guy has such a great comparison video.

Apparently Igaro are bringing a light out imminently

• #4671
it will be 2,5x the price of an edelux.
-
• #4672
And cables. Got to love cables!

Yeah, compared to my current setup it feels pretty bombproof right out of the box.
Anyone in the market for a Supernova light + rear. Also have a Sinewave USB going spare.
IQ-X can be rotated in its collar, hence can be installed upside down which is a convenient feature if you want to install it on the handlebar.
