We have had this, seat stay

• #2403
would this work? or would the bag obscure it?
-
• #2404
Yes yes. But in my head would be fitted flush to the rail on the bagman support
-
• #2405
Do you have support struts on the bagman?
-
• #2406
yes

Fine. I think @jaeyukdapbap has used a Brompton rear light bracket to affix his rear dyno light originally supposed to go at the end of a rack. The thing bolts on the rear brake bridge and extends upwards. It looked neat. (Next you’ll be telling me you don’t have a rear brake bridge...)

I use one of these with a b and m rear. Fixed to the brake bridge. Works coz I’m tall and lanky and the brake bridge is high enough as a result.
Edits: piss poor photo added to demonstrate. Light stays nice and visible under my carradice/saddle bag of the day.

Neither worked in the end.
Either the hubs broken or the light is :-(

Shit, seems weird to have just died like that. Stupid question, but only because I'm capable of similar, have you put the wheel back on facing the right way? :)

Perhaps you could attach something like this to the Bagman…?
-
• #2412
Haha yeah. Did a test with my Brompton dynamo. It’s defo the light that’s borked.
Still in warranty though. So not all bad.

How about two small p-clamps?
They won't sit flush, but pretty close.
How are you planning to route the cable? -

Isn’t the Edelux just a Cyo in a fancy shell @r.hobbs ?
-
• #2415
Yep but its the shell that matters if the water is going in, right?
-
• #2416
But it’s the brightness/beam that matters if you want to see, and that can’t be fixed with a bit of Teflon tape?
Also my pal at work has had an IQ-X on his beater for about 2 years and that’s ridden all year round, left parked in rain etc and no water in it?
-
• #2417
Also it seems people only have problems with water with Luxos and maybe IQ-X, not Cyo? I have two Cyos, the older one is five years old and has spent the nights out too for a winter and both have been through plenty of long rides and commuting and there's been no problems. The construction isn't sealed but has been reliable. I think it's bright enough for mountains and gravel too, but I read somewhere that the Edelux uses different led.

made the beam blurry, I think its still there
-
• #2420
I have to disagree about the cyo being appropriate for those things, it’s passable, just like you could run a marathon in sandals, you can manage with it, time has moved on... If you had tried an IQ-X you would agree. It’s a different world to the Cyo, Edelux or Supernova E3. The Cyo beam is super narrow, IQ-X lights up the world.

I use one of these with a b and m rear.
Hard to see how that's fitted. Any other pics from the rear?

I’m setting up my bike for a weekend of audaxing so your request is perfectly timed! Pics! Everyone please pretend you can’t see the shit cable routing.

I'm the same as you, not tall enough to fit lights below my bagman, although I do have fenders.
Yet to fit it as still building new bike. But my plan is to use this attached to the chain stay.

Is that Brompton fixture steel or alu?

I don't clean my bike very often...

Fit it elsewhere!
Bag will droop, no where sensible for the Light to go!!
