Does anyone have any recommendation for some good quality solder and flux I should be using for the schmidt SON coaxial connectors.
-
• #2228
I just use whatever roll of old lead-based solder I dig out of the solder box. It's hardly the most exacting or demanding of joints, particularly if you use the heatshrink covering.

Erm, a wire crimper.

B&M rear lamp has stopped working, sending back under warranty as bought this Spring. Anyone else had an issue with them?
-
• #2236
Yes, every single one I had. Maybe 4 in total.

Ah. Bollocks. Recommend something more reliable, for use on the little Shimano hub dyno?

What’s the forum approved dynamo light set and front hub for a limited budget?
(Budget tbc but basically not top of the range, but good value/fit and forget options).
Ignore this, just had to go back a page.

Apart from the back light fail, the lower end Spa Cycle set has been great for me (but depending on your needs re amount of light and other charging needs.)

Nice. No idea what I’m doing so spa cycles seems ideal.

I had 3 of the cheaper Lyt front ones break, one wasn't that cheap.
Every time it was the capacitor for the stand light that fell off.
Secula rears have been fine so far.I now buy AXA lights for town bikes.

How the fuck do you use their website?

Spa? It’s hilarious on mobile!
I use the search unless on a desktop screen. Helpful (hopefully) link here; https://spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s170p0/Parts-and-Accessories/Lights-Dynamo-Lighting-Handbuilt-Wheels -

Axa? Right, cheers, will take a look.

• #2245
yep, wow. I have never seen anything like that, scrolling for days under parts / accessories... where do you find dynamo hubs?!

The blueline rear is as bright as the bm ones.
Can't say how long it lasts though because I sold the bike.
The 30lux front had a standlight that was a bit weak, but was also on the sold bike.
The 50 is nice and has great side visibility.
But be careful, same as b&m they have a lot of different models that look the same. -

thats wheels not hubs!

B&M Secula rear (mudguard mounted) and axa blue line front lights. Have had both 30 and 50 lumen options. The 50 shines really bright, but I never felt like I needed more with the 30.
Make sure to get the front light with stand light as well.
No disrespect, but this question has been asked many times, and I have even answered it in this thread. A quick search will reveal all, about the light anyway.
