the cages were grumpier than usual ... but overall a top ride IMO

Does anyone have video of the incident with the car? I'd imagine people use cameras on these rides, no? Would be interested to see it.

Pretty bloody decent turnout.
Shame to hear about the aggro.

As much as I'm pro-Mass, I was surprised LCC started more overtly aligning themselves with this (which was probably the reason for the larger turnout). As a bona-fide pressure group, they could be seen as being 'organisers', or at least a group to attribute the ride to.

FJ what makes you think 'LCC started more overtly aligning themselves with this'?
The turnout was good because some people attending have got the hang of social media and the weather was good nothing to do with the London Cycling campaign.
Despite the troubles at the rear it was a really good ride.

Zebs, the overt aligning I suggested was how they started mentioning it on their social media outlets, which would concur with what you say about the better turnout. I've not seen that before (from LCC), but no doubt it was seen as a good way to build on the turnouts from the recent memorial rides.
Defo a shame about the troubles, hope it's not indicative of a shift in perception of cyclists. Maybe it was the heat!

Hi there,
New in the forum so introducing myself a little bit. I'm a documentary filmmaker and bike lover who more or less regularly goes to Critical Mass. I've been playing with the idea of making a little piece on this for a while and I'm quite lost as how to approach it. I think the beautiful thing about CM is at times the randomness and spontaneity of the characters that gather there. If you know any people who have been part of this for years or someone who takes it to the next level (ie tattooes, kids named after bikes or cyclists, in general charming nuts) it'd be great if you could forward details so I can get in touch to chat.
Many thanks and see you this Friday :)

Sorry, I completely mixed up the dates... too bad for me as it means I'll have to wait a month. Still would love to find people to talk to if you know anyone.
Thanks

This makes me want to avoid any future CM's. It just brings out the worst in everyone, both drivers and cyclists.

Great night for a Critical Mass.
I'm told July was really good.
In! Think I might take the nice bike for fun.

I didn't enjoy July much, the vibe was way more aggressive than usual.
I ran into it around Farringdon way and it got pretty ugly. Motorcyclist tried to get through only to be pulled off his bike with nasty confrontation following turning into what felt like a lynch mob. Pretty ugly...
