• I'll be there with a few mates, and hopefully a slight Halloween costume. But haven't planed it well enough to do anything amazing.

Be cool to see some peeps!

  • I'll be the one dressed as a commuter (sans hi-vis, etc.).

  • spot the bright orange jump suite zombie killer that's me (:

  • I'll be riding my phat tyres again.

  • Long shot but can someone post when the mass lands at Buckingham palace please? I am working till 9 in Westminster and am hoping it may coincide. Nice one

  • Have fun tonight!

  • Well that was something. Hope it got more interesting after the Tour De Knightsbridge/Kensington.

  • Got some friends at Tfl...

  • Never read the comments...

That was a bit aggro at Mass this month. And someone fired a rocket into Buck Palace. :(

  • Yeah have to say not my favourite mass, lots of people getting aggro and pushy and weird protest with fireworks and paint in the middle of busy London streets are stupid and terrifying. Tho some nice people there

  • First time I went, it was fun when we were in the West End, but by the time we got to South Ken, I was bored so I went home !!!

  • The south ken part was what finished it for me too. Considering the nice weather it should've gone to Camden or somewhere more lively, but that's CM for you.

  • The whole stopping at the French embassy was over the death of a protester in France.

    more here: http://www.thelocal.fr/20141027/one-dead-in-clash-over-dam-project-in-south-western-france

It has causes bigger riots in France.

Whilst I know mass is a demonstration in its self, I feel its fair to say that most of the people on mass didn't want to be involved with the paint and fireworks that were used at the embassy, expecialy so as half the mass was around the corner and couldn't even see what was going on.

I feel that the actions of literally only 6/7 people have harmed the hands off approach the police have with the mass.

Also after we left Oxford street the protesters rushed ahead to the embassy causing massive fragmentation to the mass down park lane.

But apart from that it was a really good turn out, and not a bad mass.

  • missed it ( , sounds like it wasn't all that this time though

  • A fairer account of the death of a peaceful protester:
    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/31/france-halts-sivens-dam-protester-death
Violence from local hunters/farmers/police against protesters have been festering for months.
The survey justifying the dam has just been reviewed officialy and shown to be heavily biased.

  • apart from that it was a really good turn out, and not a bad mass.

Apart from paint-bombing the French embassy, firing rockets at Buckingham Palace, setting off a flare outside B.P., someone graffiting "ACAB" on a memorial, a rider chucking a beer can at a driver and another rider kicking the side of a van at Parliament Square.

    Top Massing.

  • ^ And I was just wondering if it was time to give CM another go. Obviously not if it's still a haven for fuckwittery (even if it is a small minority).

  • Yep, that was one of the most unfriendliest Masses I've been on. Much antagonism and aggro, or at least more than usual. I think that'll do me for now.

  • I'm gonna stick with SPFG and ibikelondon for my group rides from now on.

  • I didn't see any aggro - and I was there with a first timer who really enjoyed the experience. I'm not denying there was some silliness but it was small in comparison to the scale of the turnout - massive!! 2000 plus? Please don't let the actions of a few idiots put you off - this is easily a sensible ride for the majority of supporters.

  • ^I'm glad your companion wasn't put off.

I go to CM with my son from time to time, who is 10. I won't let a dodgy month put me off. Generally I take my leave if I'm uncomfortable with the mass turning into a demo. Fragmentation of CM could be a good thing in this case.

  • And I was just wondering if it was time to give CM another go. Obviously not if it's still a haven for fuckwittery (even if it is a small minority).

I have found heckling the fuckwits is really effective.

  • Skully officially coolest dad evar!
