The court case does not try to excuse the need for people to manage their money, it tries to deal with our current "unfair" banking system and what we have come to accept as normal banking practice.

people are generally shit with money.
i have no sympathy for anyone who goes overdrawn though bad money management or an unforeseen expense when they still go out for beers, pay for sky tv/internet and eat out instead of saving up for a float to see you through things like a new boiler/car mot or repair.
in fact salaried people have even less of an excuse as they know exactly how much money they have coming in each month.
