I'm not surprised:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/police-to-reopen-bakewell-tart-murder-inquiry-655574.htmlThat reads like something from Midsommer Murders!

Shouldn't be an issue really, I have 2 x fixed bikes both with bullhorns, one has brake on left and the other on the right. I've never need to brake and attempted to grab a non-existent lever.

Yeah, but I'm worried that with both brakes I'll be coming down a huge hill, round a corner, in the wet and go for the front brake rather than the back - slip, bang, whallop...

+1 to Hartingtons cheese shop. So good. So cheap.

I don't think we are, to be honest. We'll probably stay near the hostel for days on the road, rather then all the hassle of packing up in the car. Cheers, though.
Getting more and more distracted now. Two work days and a day of tinkering in the garage to go. This is really, really needed, this break.

Ah, problem is I have a family meal Saturday night in Norfolk. Stupidly said yes before I'd thought about it and realised that I would rather just get to the Peak District a day earlier. Or sit in a windowless room staring at my feet, for that matter...

Here now - Snake Road yesterday, back through Hope and to Glossop. Lovely ride. Trying to rent some mountain bikes and find a trail today.

Some nice places to ride in Derbyshire. My folks have a pub in a village between Burton upon Trent & Derby city if you fancy giving them some custom, quite out of your way i'd have thought though

Hey Rieley,
I'm from that part Derbyshire and will be going back to see my Dad at Christmas. I'll also be taking my bike. Always on the look out for new rides and new pubs, what's the name of your parent's pub and which village is it in?

Rieley - Not far from Mickleover, haven't been to the Old Talbot before would be good to stop off for a beer or 2.
Sparky - Some nice shots there, looks like loads of fun!

The one where I'm on my backside is after a tumble on a long, steep, wet and grassy hill. Ended up going over the handlebars and sliding 15 feet from the bike. Would've been fine if it wasn't for one rock in the grass...

http://img154.yfrog.com/i/z8y.jpg/Great trip though. Day on the road was good too. Took Snake Road, round past Ladybower reservoir, through Hope and back to Glossop.

You could do a longish circular route over Snake (from Glossop side), back via Hope and Tideswell. The Goyt Valley is nice, just turn off the A5004 between Buxton and Whaley Bridge. The Cat and Fiddle (not many bikers this time of year), and you're gonna have to attempt Winnatts Pass.
Tried Winnatts... Got a third of the way up, then had to walk. Savage hill.

Aye - it's brutal, never got up it myself.
Is there any way to do that which doesn't require a new set of cables? Otherwise I'll need to buy two sets - gotta switch it back to hand it back.
Actually, it would only be inners - probably worth it.
Pudding, not tart, got it.
