Okay who's actually going to be in Amsterdam for Nye? I'm still not sure if i can afford it, but as my brother lives there (but maybe not for much longer) and i can fly there from mums (Bristol) and back into Manchester with klm, it all seems like i should make it happen.... So who's gonna be drunk (object excepted) in dam square or wherever at midnight on new years?

i would be in for this granted i can stay somewhere for a few nights at beer price. is there merit to making the route through london a day or two before or after, or should i just ferry it from newcastle? i hear eurostar has an airline-like bike polociy (that what a typo at first, but i've decided to leave it)

the bike policy on eurostar is pretty easy, you just need something that ticks the box of a "bike bag" and the front wheel off ( or both if you feel brave )
Some of us just use bike covers flipped upside down and taped up, some use binbags to just cover the bike, whatever resembles a bag/cover is fine.
No need to book in advance or pay extra.

i am up for going there for the NYE itself, sounds like a good plan, but i would be going straight from poland anyway
