And nobody is 'wishing' harm on anyone - what is being express is post hoc, he fucked himself, people are saying "you stupid cunt" - they are right.
nobody is right. on the internet everyone thinks they are right but it's all just a theory they have.
i could be wrong though?...
but am happy to be proved wrong. just not with wikipedia. -

Nor do I wish he was more injured than was the case, so that he is never fit to drive a car again. There is no purpose in anyone being a horrible prick about it.
"There is no purpose"
That is the whole point ! There is a purpose.
It is not moral, it is entirely practicable, to think it would be good that he is unable to drive again has a purpose . . . absolutely, the purpose can be easily stated, that he does not crush to death a small child on their first day on a new bike, or kill someone's girlfriend, so that their is not another LFGSS ride to commemorate a loved brother who is killed by some aggressive cock in his BMW . . . (etc).
To remove him from the position he has abused.
It absolutely has a purpose at it's heart, it is not in any way naked misanthropy.

This is just getting interesting, but I have to retire for the evening. I've had my instantised milk protein drink to wash down the bottle of wine, and I have an exciting pre-work double-header training session to do first thing, so I'll bid you all goodnight, you wonderful human scum.
You should have been in that car.
Night night.

For the record, I don't wish that he is permanently brain damaged either. In fact, I retract everything I have ever said on this forum, including this.

Yes, your assumptions are always reasonable; other people's are just, well, assumptions. Cognitive dissonance my fat ass.
If you read what I wrote:
"All comments are predicted on the reasonable assumption. . . ."
What I did not write:
"My comments are predicted on the reasonable assumption . . . . "
What I am saying is that most people (if not all) understand that they are basing their comments on the reasonable assumption that this bloke was just being a bit of a cock - and then crashed his car.
And with that assumption comes the collary "of course if it turns out he was a doctor on the way to an emergency" - then the comments are misplaced.
And yes, your 'ass' is fat.

I hate that this thread about people's honest reactions to an incident has turned into an LFGSS Late Night Special 'wig and pen' battle of language and wit.

Is this a request to return to more simple language ?
OK, I will start.
The bloke in the car was a stupid cunt, glad no one got injured or hurt by his stupid aggression, hope he has fucked himself so badly that he can't get in a car any time soon, ideally never.
I could explain why I think this, but there doesn't seem to be the appetite for any 'wig and pen' tonight - so like I say the bloke was a cunt.

josh, i hear what you are saying. but for all the clever talk and usual president of the debating society stuff it comes down to something very simple. how do people feel about someone being reckless with something that can kill? and people do not think it is cool. and people who are responsible for looking after other people tend to think it is even less cool. and really, it is not cool at all. there is nothing cool about it. the guy driving the car was not cool.

Your comment about his car being 'something that can kill' is a very good point, couple that with "people who are responsible for looking after other people" and I think you have the basis for my own position.
If this guy was randomly firing off a gun for the sheer thrill of it, and I was taking my little kid out to show him the squirrels, and this guy accidently shot himself in the leg before he managed to accidently kill someone - I would only think that was a good outcome, to see him taken out of the equation.
Nobody wants this fucker wrapped around a tree, not even himself, but that is where he put himself and it's a better place than in court for putting a cyclist in a wheelchair or a grave.
Much better and much fairer.

Oooh, only just saw this thread. I was there. But a bit behind the action. I was too far behind to see the cuntiness; by the time I went past it was a scene of post-cuntiness, with an ambulance and the guy looking in a very bad way. So, I have nothing to offer. But in general I agree with Oliver. Plus, saying he got what he deserved seems to assume some sort of universal poetic justice - who knows what any of us deserve? Utter cunt though, right enough :D

The moral agency of my superego has sniffles after reading this thread
i need to recalibrate the azimuth of my moral compass.
Good grief !
The bloke was a fucking idiot, he risked people's lives for (if our reasoned assumptions are right) some light entertainment - through his unthinking stupidity and aggression he fucked himself and his car.
This is all good, he managed to not kill any children or adults, and removed himself - hopefully for an extended period of time - from the position where he can do that again.
That's about the end of it, we can rationalise and intellectualise the situation, and it would have been nice for everyone - the driver included - if he acted with a little more empathy and compassion, but he didn't and fucked himself - pretty much the best outcome as far as I can see.
And nobody is 'wishing' harm on anyone - what is being express is post hoc, he fucked himself, people are saying "you stupid cunt" - they are right.
