Baileys is usually a no from me, but the other day I had some bread and butter pudding which had been made with stale croissants, and which included half a bottle of baileys.
Would eat again. -

Anyone got a line on cheap Aperol? Or at least cheaper Aperol. My Italian cocktail habit is costing too much.
There's a Lidl or Aldi version called Bitterol or something which I'm up for trying (in Italy the fake Aperol is fine).

I went to Zadar four years ago but unfortunately hadn't developed my taste for Italian aperitifs then. Better see if Aldi stocks it here.

Also Tesco are selling litre bottles of regular Baileys for £12 (inflation, etc)

Thsi reminds me of the last time I forgot to have my head screwed on - in airport, bought a bottle of Bailey for about a tenner, onto a winner, trying to please the uncle I was going to visit... only just fucking left it by the gate... didnt realised it until some 13 hrs later, arrived on the other end of the world... informed the crew, they called London and London told them nothing was found by the groud staff after the gate was closed... Someone has a merry night on MY expense!!!!!

Bitterol is pretty good actually. Half the price, and a higher alcohol content (15% to 11%). My wife is an Aperol spritz fan and couldn't detect the difference (science!). If it's for the traditional Aperol spritz recipe, I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference.

1L bailey's £12 at Morrison's until 6th November

Apparently German Aperol is also 15% and that is why.
I went to Lidl but no dice, it seems like they only get it in occasionally. I'll keep an eye out.

Ask a friend that has a Booker account, last time I went there Aperol was £10 per bottle, but I would suggest to try Campari, best spritz eva

Went to Berry Brothers and Rudd the other day and accidentally spent a hundred quid.
Very nice people in there though. I was really after gin, but I asked a question about Cognac and before I knew it, the girl I was talking to was lining up bottles for me to taste. One of the ones I had a sip of was nearly £400 a bottle, and tasted like liquefied gold ingots. There was also a vintage Armagnac which was wonderful, and apparently they have a stock of it going back to the 19th century.
My favourite shop in London. -

This year, vegan almond Bailey's exists. May buy a bottle just out of interest...
Pumpkin Spice Bailey's is a tenner in Tesco (70cl)
Not tried it yet.
Also bought a bottle of Vanilla Cinnamon Baileys in duty free for €11.25
Have tried previously and is good.
