This is fucked. Seems to me like this person didnt consider the possibility it was stolen. Naive, sure... but fuck... its a worse reflection on the state of this city than it is on her. I dont buy this "fuck her" bullshit.
Fuck the dude that pinched it in the first place. Anger misdirected.
i agree. how are you guilty when you don't know? naive, yes. a bit stupid, yes. but not a bad person. i wouldn't have known about stolen bikes on gumtree and in brick lane when i first came to london if a friend hadn't told me.
it's more about informing people about where stolen bikes are sold before they buy one, than having a go at them after they have bought one unwittingly.

i almost agree with you, but without the demand, the dude wouldn't have been able to get rid of it as easily, therefore less likely to pinch it. a bit more care on the buyers end would help to ensure this.
yes but not everyone is aware that 50% of stuff on gumtree is stolen, it appears she is not from the uk and she was clearly an unsuspecting buyer. -

...but they'd just rip something else mate.
Less bike theft = more VCR theft and then the fuckers are in your house

I'm with Skully, TSK and Marlon on this - and Richie, you're not half as harsh as you'd have us believe.

Whenever I see those ones of cats flying around you just KNOW someone actually threw them. Horrible. Cats are for stroking not chucking about. :(

• #162
Jayloo - how you doing? I'm gonna send you some of Alfie's jokes through one of these days.

compared to b&e, bikes are easy targets, easy to get and easier to get rid of.
how can making it harder for the nutbags be a bad thing?

• #164
I dont have the answers mate. I just wish everyone could be friends.

No, cats are for putting out with the empties, and then not letting back in again.
-
• #166
I wish it was a bit warmer too, while we're wishing.

I'm curious to know just how common this whole situation is. Someone mentioned that the bike looked powdercoated, and I agree, so I'm assuming the thief had to take apart the entire bike to get the frame off to Armourtex. Sounds like a whole criminal operation. Would it be possible to build a beater as a sort of 'bait bike', park it front of RichMix with a sally-of-a-lock, and wait in the shadows until the inevitable theft, before following the thieving cunt back to their den of iniquity in Upper Clapton, where a rag-tag bunch of forumengers proceed to pilfer their way through his/her DVD collection and what not, before setting the place alight?

and it means she won't just go out and buy another stolen bike.

true, she knows now. -

and it means she won't just go out and buy another stolen bike.
...and she wont think the world is as nice a place as she did before.
Which, to be fair, its not.

Ah, I meant for the other, burlier forumengers, with sleeve tattoos and furious beards, not a soft, lanky cake eater like myself.
