Ha - 500 games! I hope they do well on Kickstarter.
At £5 per entry for non-members, the food/drink had better be decent too. I'd expect a good selection of floor games too for the big kids. Great location for a singles night!

It's funny, I really wonder what killed the thread back in November 2013.

I had an excellent game of Blockbusters the boardgame whilst on holiday. Questions from 1986 were great, ranging from childfriendly to Masters level. Fairly dated too. Highlight being "What F is a Muslim man's red felt hat?"
Oliver, looks like it's just you an me keeping this thread going...

I recently had to buy a copy of Carcassonne Hunters and Gatherers edition. It turns out its out of print and I ended up paying a small fortune to buy a NOS one from the US. It was satisfying to pop the map pieces out of the sprues though...
That is all. -

Played perudo the other day with the inlaws, was much fun

Just bought Love Letters, great little quick fire card game. Also enjoying Munchkin when I get the chance.

Anyone here played Ricochet Robots? Played a game drunk last weekend and I think I short circuited something in my brain.
Such hard. -

Enjoy playing chickenfoot and mexican train dominos also have discovered a great outdoor game called Molkky
-
• #314
Mölkky! The Finnish game of stupid!
-

In other news my orc Blood Bowl team lost to Underworld team. Which annoys me no end. ST is no substitute to good positional play.

Agri-hazard.
We used to play this when I was a kid - always wanted to find it again.
Basically Monoploy for farmers. My Dad worked in the tyre industry and it seems to have been made by Ford."Players buy and sell farms, stock them with sheep, cattle and tractors, grow crops and sell their produce at market. Each completed turn round the board represents a farming year.
The game does not define a fixed set of ending conditions. Players are called on to set a time limit prior to the start of play, with the added condition that all players must finish on reaching the Market square. Presumably the players proceed to the market square after the time limit has expired, as there are no rules encompassing the failure to be on that square at the end of the allotted time."I remember the money being much higher than Monopoly - probably why we liked it so much. The top farm cost £600,000… The dreaded "Severe weather. Lose all crops." card was a killer.

Great box cover.
-
• #319
I think the cover is one of the reasons that I remember it so much.. The tokens were pretty cool too. Sheep, cows and tractors instead houses and hotels.
Looking again at the second pic I posted I see now that I should have been buying the cheapest farm and stuffing it with swedes. £62,000 profit per annum on a £10,000 outlay..

Has anyone played this? A quick way to lose friends.

Played Carcassonne today, good fun that, all about the fields
-
• #322
I've never played Risk ever. Though I hear even the original game is bad enough.
-
• #323
I played it again some years ago with some friends, about twenty years after we had last played it. We didn't enjoy it much, and this is a group that sometimes played it for hours back in the day. It's dated badly by virtue of being so simple and so many other, more sophisticated games now being available.
-
• #324
Ahh, but sophisticated it's always better. Monopoly Deal and Love Letter (both card games) are getting a lot of play, due to the quick games and easy to pick up, but both very enjoyable. Then I can introduce to slightly stronger games - Munchkin (whilst still fairly simple), takes a while for new people to get, but then they love it.

Just got the 5-6 player expansions for Settlers (and for seafarers too) - got a game in over the weekend, that additional building phase is much needed.
Oh, you won't be after I've taken you through 3 1/2 hours of rule explanations. :)
