  • The Tour is about an hour away around the weekend of the 10th too.(Morzine Finish on the Sunday 11 July, Rest day Monday, Morzine Avoriaz Start on the Tuesday) http://www.letour.fr/2010/TDF/COURSE/us/le_parcours.html

  • but the 10th is a polo wedding...

  • That's not strictly speaking true, it's only a half polo wedding.
There's no way you can call Matt a polo player.

  • tourney? wedding? tourney? wedding?

    tourney.

  • on the second thought they can always get married in Geneva...

  • [sets thread to ignore]

  • Here is the formal announcement for the EHBPC 2010 bid and vote. It has been sent out to the big email list we have and should be posted on other polo forums.

As part of the London bid for the EHBPC 2009, we promised to hold a vote to decide which city would host the EHBPC 2010.

We’re delighted that Geneva has put forward a bid on www.bikepolo.ca.

We would like to do one final call for any other city to put forward a bid to host the Euros in 2010. There will then be a vote in which all regular European polo players can decide who will host. Even if there are no other bids, the vote will go ahead. In this way, the winning host city will know that their bid has the support of the European polo community, it will add legitimacy to the voting process as it develops for 2011, and will allow the winners to explain that their bid was voted for – something that we as 2009 organisers found useful with press and sponsors.

    Timeline:

Any other bids to host the Euros in 2010 need to be submitted by Midnight CET on Saturday, 21st November.

The cities who have put forward a bid will answer questions about their bids online up until Midnight CET on Tuesday 24th November.

Voting will be open from Wednesday 25th November until midnight CET on Friday 27th November.

The winner will be announced shortly afterwards.

To vote on the location of the EHBPC 2010, you must:

    1) Log in to bikepolo.ca (or create an account if you do not already have one at bikepolo.ca/user/register)

    2) Since only players living in Europe will be voting, please fill out the location field while registering, or if you already have an account, in your account settings.

    3) To vote, you must also join the "Europe" group before Saturday November 21st at 11:59pm CET, www.bikepolo.ca/club/europe. Between November 22nd and 24th, a member of the EHBPC 2009 committee will be confirming your membership to the group, and then you will be able to vote.

PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER IF YOU ARE NOT A REGULAR PLAYER IN EUROPE! The applications will be checked manually, so it will waste our time if you don’t play there regularly but try to join the Europe club.

    Cheers,

    Iain, Matt, Mike, and Roxy

  • If you're registered to vote, the voting is open over here:

  • domain has expired. oops kev.

  • quick, let's use the LHBPA money to buy it!

  • we're having a couple of DNS issues, so access to bikepolo.ca might be intermittent between now and Wednesday afternoon (EST). In the meantime, the site can also be accessed at www.leagueofbikepolo.com and you can go ahead and comment etc., no data will be lost during this hiccup.

I don't actually own the domain, Pieter in Vancouver does. I think he's resolving some kind of billing dispute, hopefully by the end of the day.

In the meantime, you can access the site at http://www.leagueofbikepolo.com.

  • a little more info up about registration: http://leagueofbikepolo.com/forum/tournaments/2009/12/10/ehbpc2010-gva-pre-registration and/or http://ehbpc2010.wordpress.com/

  • Hey MCR, Oxford, Cambridge, and the rest of the UK:

I told Clement from Geneva that I'd try to spread the word about Euros 2010 pre-registration. They want to have each city elect it's ambassador for the process. Dave posted the link above, but here it is again, just in case. http://www.leagueofbikepolo.com/forum/tournaments/2009/12/10/ehbpc2010-gva-pre-registration
