thanks guys, so im steering clear of dura ace (even thogh i was never a fan), i might check out those tech stops eastend mentioned. Time to locate some in London, I have a feeling my current pads are soon going to f*ck me over.

Just to add to this thread.
I had been using the shimano ceramic brake pads on my ceramic open pro, but they were wearing out.
I got some fibrax green pads from Chain Reaction and put them on the bike last night, my front brake was scarily efficient today in both the rain this morning and the dry this evening.
Will have to see how well they wear compared to the shimano ones (which are now hard to find and about twice the price).

I've heard good things about the Fibrax, so unsurprising that they work well.

RE Fibrax pads
They were good for a few days but are erratic in heavy rain.
Initially I was finding that they made the bike stop v abruptly and was very impressed.
Now there are 3 options in the wet
1 pull on brake and it offers very little resistance
2 brakes grip and give good control
3 it judders to fuck as it slows downthe little resistance occurs when the surface is dirty, but cleaning the braking surface by lightly squeezing the brakes does not appear to work as well as it did when using shimano pads.
i will check the alignment of the pads before i next ride, just to make sure they have not moved out of position at all.

i just put some green swisstop inserts on my bike and they are working a treat.

Ive got some old campag brakes, a bit newer than these but with the same pads/cartidges:
Was just wondering under what labelling the right size replacement pads would be?
Also if some decent pads for wet weather could be recommended as these dissolved faster than shimano chocolate pads.

i had ordered green swisstops from SJS but had a fucking nightmare using SJS so cancelled the order

^ explain?

just thought, i get back to you as i rode my new koolstop salmon pads in and had a few rain runs to say the least :S
i find them good in dry conditions and not a big help in the wet. my wheel, even if squeezed hard has to go around once or twice to be cleared of the mug enough to give me some deceleration, nowhere near decent dry stopping power ... nowhere near whot my swissstops green felt like on my mtb.i will swap to green soon.

to flimsy ... it's an unipack!

when ordering from SJS the payment screen kept kicking me out
each time i had to reset various items on the screen, but forgot to chose the correct business in my building when it finally went through
parcel went to the other business, but they have now left the building, so was forwarded to their new address.
by the time i had worked out what had happened they had returned the goods to SJS - however all of this happened during the postal strike, so everything was hugely delayed. the order was made weeks ago, today SJS finally said the items had been returned.
in the meantime i had succesfully ordered from parker international
all in all it was my fuck up failing to realise that the address had defaulted to another business in my building when the payment screen booted me out - even at the time i had filled out a feedback questionaire re the service and said i found the payment screen very clunky
to be honest as parker and wiggle do free postage and are generally cheaper, i am not too inclined to try SJS again

also realigned the Fibrax pads, braking is somewhat improved but would rather be using the shimano pads for a more consistent and dependable feel

I got em from Wiggle, and got two pairs £20

Parker have genuine shimano cerami pads for 8 or 9 quid
I have some made my Clarkes. Cheap and shit - very little stopping power when I need it.
Come to think of it I should really upgrade
