  • Guy on a Colnago fixed with risers. Messenger bag. Went up Turner Road off Dereham Rd. Was just leaving for a ride, think we kind acknowledged each other. On here?

  • Skully, there are nice places at night. But King Street and that whole area around Prince of Wales and Riverside is best avoided at night by, well, people like yourself. Read into that what you will. I avoid it like the plague.

  • I fuckin loves it!

  • It depends what end of King St. If Skully is talking about the place I think he is - 42 King Street (the cocktail bar) - then that stays nice at night. But yeah, POW/RIverside are just heinous places.

  • Yeah, kid, and the jazz should be bop. Don't be giving me any of your do-wop or swing, save that for the schoolgirls and two-bit car salesmen.

  • I fuckin loves it!

    NVS Mercy trip?

  • Lol

  • Or one of the random drunks we "befriend" on Norwich Beers!

  • And we have a second entry for the inaugral "Jammiest Git at Bicycle Links Award". Joe, our new volunteer, on a black/gold Colnago Master Piu, Campy Shamal wheels, full Campy Chorus groupo, Concor saddle. And what did he pay for that delicious set up? £90 fucking pounds from an incredibly stupid friend.

  • Pretty OT but Thross - If I came by Dr. Bike am I able to borrow and use tools or do I have to pay for someone to do jobs that I can do myself?

  • ^^ I'm going to come and volunteer at Bicycle Links. The bonus scheme is outrageous!

I assume you mean Bicycle Links, not Dr Bike on UEA campus? If it's us, you will probably have to pay, we usually charge £4 per hour on saturdays, but if it's a quiet day midweek you might be able to occupy a bike stand then too, best to just come in and ask, we're usually pretty lax.

  • Also, apologies for forgetting your name, but it was cool to meet the guy who came into Bike Links earlier with the ratty Raleigh, always nice to meet fellow riders (Who are you on here for future reference?) And yeah, definitely come in again with your Bowery, and if we can find you a race frame/complete, we'll do a deal for sure.

Good to meet you too! Awesome, I'll figure out what I'm going to do first and I'll pop back in, thanks for the help!

  • I want some of Joe's luck. Need to pop into bicycle links tomorrow actually, still frame-hunting and need to pick up a cassette.

I do mean bicycle links my mistake. That's good to know, thanks. I'll try swing by at some point, just hate having to spend money for other people to do things that I could do myself given the space.

  • @TomVanHalen - I'll most likely see you tomorrow. I'm the taller/longer haired of the two younger guys that work there, come say hi.

@spiderpie - I know exactly how you feel, which is why it's very convenient being able to tinker there in my free time. Come along whenever (Weds-Sun of course) and we'll be able to sort you out.

No worries, it's always good to be able to help out people that actually ride properly! See you round.

  • On the late train back to Norwich from Liverpool Street last night, saw a guy with a black frame, pink brake callipers, and a rear aerospoke running single speed. No idea if he's Norwich based, probably not.

  • Trackstanding at Chapelfield/Grape Hill roundabout around six this evening?

  • That was me! Where were you?

  • That was me! Where were you?

Thought it might have been. I went down St. Giles fairly quickly as I thought the guy behind me was trying to kill me.

  • Dodgy driving I assume?

Speaking of which, I almost got knocked off seconds after you saw me, guy simply pulled out in front of me from Chapelfield way, didn't have long enough to shout, just managed to get behind him though. Daily reminder of why I run a front brake.

  • I think there is something in the air at the moment. I've had a few dodgy drivers this week and a guy at work was chased up Magdalen Street after he remonstrated a driver for pulling out in front of him.

  • Guy in UK Cycles this lunchtime with a gorgeous old Royal Enfield Zephyr.
