    Hmmmm

  • I've got some photos up now
This is the guy on 75" fixed clicking the pic goes to the gallery.

  • so it was also my first sportive. quite a shameful 6hrs 14min or so. Of which 5hrs10 were in the saddle. The rest was spent fixing a friends puncture and drinking coffee..

had a pretty good time. was riding pretty strong for the first half. even going up kidds hill (the wall). i used to ride that hill at least once a week when i lived around those parts. Then once we got to the other side of Groombridge, something tweaked within me, i realised i then had another 60km or so to go. So in the end i just sat in the saddle and span. Really couldn't be bothered to push myself at that point.

    a photo of me..

    Colnago all the way!

Fixedwheelnut.. i think i may have thrown you the devil horns on one of the earlier hills?

I think i may have caught the sportive bug, already planning on doing these 4 rides. http://www.srs-events.cc/index.htm

  • Pics are up on sportivephoto.com

Great riding Sam, Martin...and ahem Sam.
Along with all the other forumengers that rode.
    chapeau!

  • yeah total respect for you guys getting out there that day.

martin - i would expect nothing more from your photos - always at ease on the bike. i suspect Sam and Matt's pictures show a more true picture of how hard it was.

hey matt (SBB) - great work dude on getting out there popping your sportive cherry and such a tough day, nice one.

  • nice work Matt, tongue out too?!?

i'm also doing the springtime classic

  • I have just registered. 27th February 2011. Time Slot 08:29

    http://www.hell.gb.com/

  • Signed up. 8:33 slot. You'll see me soon enough :)

  • vinerrider and i have just signed up on the 0931 slot.

  • ahh tom that is bad planning. it would have good to ride together.

  • balls. that's what I get for drunkenly clicking through. the dulwich lot are heading out at 0930 - it's a good train to be part of. I'll see if I can shuffle my slot.

  • Emailled them asking if it's possible to tranfser. Will see how it goes.

  • I may have gotten away with it.

  • After saying that I probably wouldn't go for three in a row I've signed up yet again. Off at 8:25am with the purple_mj. Tom, if you're off at 9:30am you'll most likely see me at the the top of the Wall!

  • PS It would be four in a row if I hadn't bailed with bugger all training back in 2008.

  • i am signed up for 08:24...

but i thought this was end of jan (i am looking at last years thread title) and there is a possibility i will be away snowboarding :-( not booked yet, so i will try and avoid this weekend.

  • Ah if there's a bunch starting around half 8 maybe I'll just stick with that. Though I don't fancy my chances of gaining 8 minutes on you and Martin...
(First time doing this so no idea what to expect. Will look at a route at some stage.)

  • I can't vouch for Martin, but you will definitely catch me.

  • Cunting bloody Paypal...

Hopefully there will still be places available by the time i've sent them a proof of address.

  • No places available on the baby route :(

  • In at around 9ish.

  • Bumpedy bump. It's getting closer...
(Sunday 27th February 2011, just in case the thread title is confusing you and you're as absent minded as I am)
