Think its about time I spent some time with the wife and child rather than disappearing at ungodly hours with men in lycra (or skinny jeans). For that reason I'm out.
Valentines Day ride????? what were you thinking?
;)

is this possible on 48 x 18 or will it be hideous? i'm wobbling about coming along, but have a dinner thing the night before. perhaps i might use this as an excuse not to drink.....

mike.. you know there'll be at least one person to chat to when they all zoom off pedalling really slowly - shall we chip in together for a map?
lookin forward to this, had a screwed back all this week, screwed neck the week before last.. come on weather, show us a little affection on valentine's day!
I haz Googoomaps on phone but a good ol' fashioned one sounds slightly more reliable... Let's do it. I like riding at the back anyway. Means no one can see my sketchy riding.

Damo - I'm doing it on 49/19. What BCD cranks you got? I've got a 44t 130 sitting in the cupboard you can borrow if you've got a suitable cog.

okay i'm rolling on 46/17.. do i need to put an extra tooth on the back?
-
• #1084
Doubt it. I raced much of the route on 46x15 with rubbish fitness and no miles in my legs.
If I'm fixed, I'll be on 45x20.
There are no rules regarding gearing.

But there are rules regarding wearing 80's wind front tights:-)

tim you must have read my mind.. i was literally just thinking about those beauts... 80s stees definitely coming out on sunday...
yeah the gearing question was really about whether there were hills that would be too heavy going on the way up on 46/17.. you can't ask BMMF about these things, he does swains on 92 inches and shit..

Haw, there is women too and evryting, you know.
I'm not feeling all this geared bike business. I expected better from y'all.
I'll be fixed as fixed can be. Probably 70". (And last.) If there's no ice, that is...
-
• #1096
i know this is a bit early but if it is going to be just too iffy cos of ice again i'd be well up for a ride that's a bit safer round town in the morning... it would be nice not to waste the impetus, even if it's not quite the same we could get 30 miles in before lunch..?
