Probably the best way, then if they have problems with the Sensation, you'll know how to fix it quickly.

I am very seriously tempted by it. Just two problems:
- New nexii due "shortly"
- It's not LTE amd Everything Everywhere, who I am a high valued customer of, are about to launch 4G.
On the other hand, maybe I should just suck up older, cheaper hardware with newer, greater software and save myself some hassle and money in the long run. All of this bleeding edge crap is a young man's game...
What to do?

TBF as well, the price plans of 4G will probably be ludicrous. And how fast do I actually need my mobile broadband to be?
-
• #8658
New Nexus will have a premium price so not too phased about buying on a delayed cycle these days.
I'm still happy with my Sensation, for example and see no reason to update other than a cheap way of getting phone to folks. -

Is the Nexus microSIM, ie. am I going to need to get a microSIM from somewhere?
-
• #8660
you can just cut your sim down to microsim, or walk into carphonewarehouse and get them to do it. I cut my own

Just ordered a nexus 7, anyone else have one? Any good apps I should look out for after rooting? CHeers.
-
• #8662
Well I sort of own one, although it's currently under RMA due to screen lifting issue :(
I used it for all of 5 minutes... -
• #8663
Bugger! This isn't the first I've heard of that problem. Hope it's sorted quickly.
-
• #8664
Well at least Ebuyer sent someone to collect it. Seems Google are being very slack at it. Although of course, it's only the people with problems who complain, there's a huge number of very satisfied customers out there with their N7
-
• #8665
Hmmm, I bought direct from google. Hope I've no need of their customer services then.

Why would you root the nexus 7?
Oh and download currents - my favourite app at the moment.
-
• #8667
Yeah I can't see a reason to root the nexus. Although I do like being able to nand backup the device without having to reboot
-
• #8668
Was mainly for greater flexibility with back up.
-
• #8669
The nexus isn't micro sim...

a quicky
I want to root my SGS2, when I sync contacts on the phone to gmail, but, they all do not appear in my gmail on the computer??
will the phone only sync back to the ones on the computer/cloud or wateva?is there a way to back up with out rooting?
kies now works, but if I root it,I won't be able to back up with kies, right? -
• #8671
Kies should still work, have you looked at the contacts that don't back up, are they saved to the phone or samsung account and not the google one?
-
• #8672
they are saved on the phone, samsung account is deactivated
-
• #8673
ahhh, there is something called "my contacts" under their details
could be that needs ticking -
• #8674
Yeah, make sure each one is being told to sync with google, probably by ticking my contacts.
-
• #8675
Also the sync can sometimes take a while.
Galaxy Nexus for under £300: http://www.expansys.com/samsung-google-galaxy-nexus-16gb-titanium-silver-224319/
I'd jump on that if I was thinking about a new phone.
