  • Doesn't the nexus have a non-removable battery and no SD card slot?

  • Good deals from Curry's, but read the instructions (need the Curry's android app to get £50 off at checkout):

Makes the Eee Pad Transform 16gb £250, Motorola Xoom 32gb £280 etc.

    Tempted!

  • Can't decide - 16gb Transformer or 32gb Xoom. Head says cheaper transformer (which is supposed to be very marginally better) but I much prefer the look of the Xoom.

  • The xoom was lovely to use but I quite liked the transformer with the keyboard it worked surprisingly well.

  • I wouldn't be getting the keyboard, so trying not to factor that into my decision. I guess it also comes down to when the two will be getting ICS, and the customisation of the interface.

Trawling the interwebs and youtube :)

  • I may have answered my own question anyway. My local Curry's only has the Xoom in stock...

  • Are there any decent <£100 tablets out there that are good for e-reading as well as interwebery?
#first time in this thread, apolos if discussed.

It has a removable battery but no SD slot

  • Now owner of a Galaxy Nexus.

    Erm, wow.

Best phone I've ever owned, bar none.

Best phone I've ever user, bar none... which considering I get to play with almost every phone on the market is saying something....

Ice Cream Sandwich is just lovely.

Hmmmmm. This is high praise indeed. I have another upgrade in coming soon........ Do I really need to upgrade from my Galaxy S II?
Probably not, but Ice Cream Sandwich on Nexus is very, very tempting.

  • all gs2 owners are supposed to be getting ICS soon.

  • On the right hand side of that phone velocio what are the 3 little buttons together?

I think they're contacts for some method of docking the phone.

It is a good phone. I've moved from an iphone (admittedly a very slow 3gs) and it is superior in every respect.

The only thing that I've found would useful is a quicker way to stop the screen rotating (i imagine there's a widget for this somewhere though).

  • There is a nice one which you can set to be activated by long holding the search button. Shame ICS doesn't have one...

There are no rough edges on this phone, and the only reported bug seems to have been fixed in an update that arrived shortly after being turned on.

Ice Cream Sandwich is just lovely.

yeah, other than the volume bug and my handset misbehaving early on its now pretty special

edit: just Googling and seems the update is out there, but my Vodafone SIM free handset is still on ITL41D - it is really annoying when you're on a call and the volume just goes right down by itself!

  • Sitting here on a Motorola XOOM. Liking it so far. Nice and sleek :)

Txt entry on the browser seems a bit slow, but its fine in other apps.

  • I just finally clicked on what ICS is!

I got the update to the volume bug on Thursday when I was doing the initial setup of the account on the phone. So I've not been subject to it, and received an update to a known bug immediately.

No SD card slot, 16GB onboard memory though.

Battery is removable, replacements are approx' £20 and come out mid-January.

Are there Major differences between the Galaxy s2 and the nexus? Or a different target market?

Nexus are developer phones. They meet the minimum hardware requirements of a future version of a phone, and offer a pure Android experience with no carrier interference.

As such, you can guarantee to have the best software support and widest availability of ROMs later... it's a developer phone. And that you have new software features first.

Nexus phones do not guarantee the highest hardware spec, that's not their point. So expect other hardware to overtake them rapidly.

On the right hand side of that phone velocio what are the 3 little buttons together?

Looks like such a great phone, seems they have really thought of everything.

Three little gold dots? It's for the horizontal charging dock that is coming out mid-January. I think the car dock may be horizontal too.

  • Motorola Watch - runs Android OS

Its a GPS device for runners really. Not as fancy as it might seem.

  • Still want...

  • anyone with a Galaxy S2 want a free case?
    just like this

I'm an idiot and don't read descriptions so it doesn't fit my Galaxy S.

  • I'll take that for horatio...

  • would it fit my galaxy s?

  • ^no
^^ Joe, you're welcome to come pick it up from me at LMNH any time.

  • Thanks, Henry... Mrak will come and nab it or just give it to Nik and she can pass it on to Adrienne...

  • Ok, it's in my bag now. Next time I see Nik I'll give it to her unless Mrak finds me first.
