The LG Optimus 2X will be available on more than one network, and surprisingly, the Motorola Atrix has been picked up officially too. The Optimus 2X seems to have some issues with its software, so don't buy it till its released and tested, as the software issues may be solved by then......but I'm doubtful. Both phones should be here in the UK within the next one to two months. Maybe much sooner....

Yeah I head that too, but didn't find anything more concrete. There don't seem to really be many meaningful reviews online yet

dont know if this is the right place for such a question but here we go. if i got a phone that was wifi enabled, downloaded skype/messenger or similar and went abroad, could i switch my phone to offline or flight mode and use skype/messenger in a wifi hotspot? noone in stores seems to want to give me an answer on this. im working abroad a lot at the mo and this summer and thought it may be a good way to keep in touch without rinsing my monies. has anyone done this?

Yes, just disable data roaming (which is usually disabled by default).
Then you will still be able to send and receive voice and sms, and you will be able to use internet via wi-fi only.

That's because there is only one model available at the moment. It comes either with or without 3G.

I have bought a number of Kindles using that link and it works just fine. If you are concerned, you can substitute .co.uk for .com to make sure you are in the UK version of Amazon.
