My Hero's GMail isn't synching since I updated to 2.1, anyone else having issues? Even when I force synch it takes a couple of goes before it'll show me new emails... Pfff...

Lame. I'd take it back. And get an iphone.

thats a decent review and i agree with it completely... having used the galaxy s for a week, it really is an excellent phone... one or two issues like random lagging when doing simple things like opening messages but that happens very rarely... other than that its amazing... video recording is incredible...

Just about to purchase the Desire then it's HD brother shuffles onto the scene. The waiting game begins once more.

For video playback or games play, it is. Apart from that, I can't see how the Galaxy S is inferior in any way. True, I reckon that the Desire may get more updates than the Galaxy S, but I'd get the Galaxy S if games or video was a priority. The Desire may be the better all-rounder. Subjective though.

It's all in this thread. If you want games sure, get the S, otherwise the Desire is the better phone.

Lately always had trouble with Gmail + calendar sync on 1.6 and the Peep app was crashing out constantly after starting before I went to 2.1

Just noticing the lack of sync today on 2.1 now you mention it. Was showing as synced 4 days ago in the Labels view even though the Sync settings view was showing synced 1 hour ago.....I've just looked at Sent label items and it was synced and when I went back to Inbox it started to sync too.

Good news for Lil, and maybe for me.

The Xperia X10 may launch tomorrow in the USA, one of the world's most important markets. The upshot of this is that I doubt that the X10 would not migrate to the Eclair update immediately, and then the Froyo update shortly after. In fact, it would be extremely counter-productive to launch with the stock Android 1.6 OS. It would seem so outmoded, as to render the phone almost unsaleable.

I have high hopes.

The previously mentioned Desire HD could be a rebodied HTC EVO without the 4G.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but disabling javascript speeds up browser no end, and doesn't seem to impact on many sites

Cheers Hippy, wondered what the update was for. Not sure how useful this would be though!

Not sure what I did but charged to 100% then came off charge at about 7.30-8PM last night, played some music, did some web surfing, downloaded by wifi from Amazon MP3 store straight to phone, and left on overnight, still at 62% which is good for this....

Removing Flickr from accounts and setting WIFI to sleep after 15 mins, and using APN Droid seems to have done the trick

P.S. Y5 (mentioned previously in this thread) is a great app HOWEVER when you are in a remembered cell, and you WANT wifi off manually it keeps switching it back on, USELESS, uninstalled!!
