Good review. My favourite screen size is 6.1 inch and this is pretty close.
£650 isn't exactly cheap, though.

Instantly hate not having a physical back button. Now trapped in some NetGuard dialog box swiping every direction to escape haha dannyglover.gif

Netguard settings aren't copied but you can Export then Import them onto the new device. Yay!

Didn't copy any Clock alarm settings over although it did do other Clock settings. You'd think it would deal with the Google apps a bit better.
Signal now deactivated on old phone. Seems odd, given you can pair it with a desktop app on many devices. "Multiple mobile devices and Android tablets are not currently supported. "

There's a way to bring back the earlier control systems via 'soft buttons', somewhere in Settings.
-
• #22035
I'm kinda getting the hang of it though swiping is shit compared to smashing a button in disgust when some app is being a dick.
-

I can see how to change the desktop app grid size but how do I add more desktop pages? Is that not a thing?
Okay, their help systems are all shit and I outsourced this to the missus. You just drag some shit to another screen and it expands. Fucksake. They make everything so simple, for someone used to shit UIs, it's more fucking difficult.

Found it. Much better than their stupid gestures. Thanks.

I quickly switched back to the soft buttons from swiping.
really irritating to use, especially on web pages -
• #22039
Yeah and on apps that have their own swipe actions like Gmail and Signal. Swipe swiping.
-
• #22040
If you stick with it, it's fantastic.
I can't go back now. Hate using my partner's phone which is configured to use buttons.

Too late. Buttons immediately dropped rage incidents 50%
How do I get WIFI on/off on the main dropdown? They've buried it under some "Internet" bullshit button.
There was something else, oh yeah, can I get the camera on the lock-screen. Let me look..

I think Android offers a camera shortcut of a quick double press of the power button.

For WiFi pull down the notification shade, press the pencil then drag and drop the wi-fi shortcut to where you want it.
-
• #22044
That works. Harder to do when riding. Actually holding this thing in general is a lot harder.
"Let's make this thing worth hundreds of pounds and easily broken when dropped REALLY REALLY REALLY fucking slippery" -
• #22045
There isn't a WIFI one - it's just Internet. I like a quick option to turn off my wifi. This is now a extra step.
-
• #22046
and can this stupid planet please come up with a single 2FA solution? Of course not. Idiot humans.
-
• #22047
Yeah I just realised that's what you meant. It's not there as a quick option any more 🤷♂️

There's bound to be a custom widget thing somewhere but I'm way to lazy to check.

The wi-fi thing is a common gripe, you're s bit fucked without going a bit too deep for what it's worth. Double press power for camera has been around for years, along with volume for shutter, and means you can pap people without looking super easy whenever you want.
So, NetGuard doesn't seem to think I'm a paid user any more and doesn't have any settings. That's annoying. Is there a way around this or do I need to buy it and configure it again?
