Could be the virgin connection. My home virgin media internet has an over zealous filter. Have you tried via a VPN? Or have a look around your virgin media account for any settings.

Is it the phone or the network blocking it?
If they work on wifi but not mobile data it would suggest the latter.

It seems to be the phone as it happens on WiFi and 5G, in fact all the time. At home my other devices can access fine via the virgin broadband.
I haven't tried a VPN. Seems a bit overkill for buying a bottle of wine.

Suggested more for troubleshooting.

Thanks, understood.
I guess that would require installing some software on my phone, which obvs I could do but I'm still hoping that I just need to turn something off in a setting. Just can't find which setting and Google isn't helping much.

the website cannot provide a secure connection
Chrome browser? Cleared cache etc?
-
• #21908
Yes, Chrome browser. I've had a look through the settings and all looks pretty standard, I'm on default level of protection.

Have you cleared cache/browsing data?
-
• #21911
No but I've just installed Opera and the issue still occurs in a different, freshly installed browser.

• #21912
What's the full URL that's causing the issue? Can you view the rest of the site?

Maybe the DNS server? Are you using anything like NextDNS? Could try changing it to the google or cloudflare one.

This is what it says in settings for DNS:

Does it work if you change the Automatic to none?
-
• #21917
Hmmm, doesn't seem to make a difference.

Seems like it is to do with Virgin mobile settings, which it turns out I can't change due to not being the "family manager" even though I set up the account in the first place and added in mrs and kids.

I googled but strangely nothing obvious seemed to come up.
Is there an apple wallet equivalent that will store QR codes?
(I have a QR code I'll need to use regularly)
Cheers.

Screen grab, save in a folder, put the folder on the home page?
-
• #21921
Google pay is the equivalent. I have clubcards, traintickets and covid pass and the like in there. Think it needs to be something that's compatible with Google pay though, can't just snapshot any QR.

^^Folder idea is a good one.

...interesting but are you implying there's an Android version? Where?
Any ideas as to why my phone won't allow access to alcohol related websites? Parental controls are off.
I get the message "the website cannot provide a secure connection".
