Confirmed with Google in writing. So upto two months of 2Tb Google one membership @£7.99pm should get 10% of a pixel as store credit. Plus you can still claim the headphones. That's a job for sober me tomorrow.
That will pay for a case and wireless charger.

I have 3 Android Phones, all in pretty good condition, for sale.
Not in boxes, all used for app development and or Ultrasound Training.
I also- full disclosure- have absolutely no idea where the chargers are.
Huawei P30 Pro- Light use, in clear case, £100.
S20 Ultra- £350, with folio case.
S10- £150, in samsung's own case.
Any spares I find will come with the phones.

Is the Pixel 5 just not available now, not on google?

I kinda like Android 12, wasn't sure about the bubbles when I first saw them but it's okay... Don't like the new clock widget tho', that's a bit of a fail for me...
Faster too, very zippy...

I would say yes- there are no scratches or anything, all looks nice to me.

Thanks, need to make a call to EE and then will PM if I do want it. Don't hold it on my account.

Yeah, I've tried that one a few times, it doesn't quite do it for me... I should just make my own...

I've got an idea for a clock/calendar based widget function that you can't get elsewhere, you make it, I'll take half the money.

Another polar clock? You know Gabes made the first one then got ripped off?
I'd make a really simple one but with lots of control so you could do exactly what you wanted with the time/date/etc...

Polar clock? Nah different idea, simple and control are always good, my isn't particularly simple but might be appreciated by some people, not a bikey thing, couldn't find another one like it when I thought I'd like to use one.

I found a really weird bike one yesterday, wasn't looking for one but some of the widgets were very fucking strange... A bike and a moustached bloke's face... Very odd...
I think this was Gabes' one?

That looks cool but I think I'd hate it it in actual use and the minimalist, text on black kinda thing I like. Pretty sure I remember the rip offs though.

Just over a month of owning my Moto g30 and really liking it. Happy that I went for a new phone over a 2nd hand iPhone that would likely have shit battery life. It's last over 3 days at the moment. Favourite thing is the karate chop gesture to activate torch - I use that SO much.

My Pixel 6 is here - yay!
Seems like it wants to copy data over from the old phone using a cable though, which is unfortunate as the port doesn't work on the old phone. I used SmartSwitch when I got the S8 to do it wirelessly but I think SmartSwitch only works getting data on to Samsungs, not off them.Anyone know another way to copy the phone data/contacts/apps over from an S8 to Pixel 6 wirelessly please?

All your contacts and email etc will be associated with your google account so don't actually need to be synced over. You just need to log in on your new phone
In terms of apps, why not embrace the new phone and fresh start and only install what you need as you go?
Photos are more complicated...depends on whether your photos sync to cloud or not.

I suppose the give up & accept it option is probably going to win out in the end yes!
I think my pictures are all in Google Photos, which must be on the cloud somewhere, at least the ones I've taken. Maybe I'll just give it a go!

You can do it over a shared wifi connection according to the Android 12 website but does not tell you how or link to the solution. (last graphic on the page)
https://www.android.com/android-12/
I've used Feem for moving THE FILMS THAT I HAVE BOUGHT to my wife's phone over wifi too

You're right, it can actually do it via wifi - when I was looking at the instructions it didn't give it as an option but you can when using the phone!
This Pixel is seriously chunky compared to the S8!

Google 1 has a formal full phone backup and restore option.
I ordered a pixel 6 sea foam last night as stock appeared online. I'll miss the telephoto lens but not sure that was worth £250 to me.

Anyone used this site https://www.mobiles.co.uk/google-pixel-6-128gb-stormy-black?filter_tariff_data%5B%5D=-1&filter_network_multiselect%5B%5D=vodafone for buying phones? It appears to be part of Currys so should be reasonably reliable, although it looks like one where to get the cashback there are lots of hoops to jump through.
Pixel 6 with unlimited data for £35 seems decent (although I imagine there will be a glut of Bose 700s being sold soon).
However, I'm trying to work out what the exact contract details are and can't spot anywhere on the website that allows you to do that. Can anyone point me in the right direction where to look.

And a separate question, what's the deal with Android phones and connecting them to TVs using USB C to HDMI cables?
I know my current phone doesn't do it but is it a feature of top end ones? Anything that I should look for in terms of specs to see if a phone definitively does/doesn't do this? Googling just seems to bring up loads of conflicting info.
Yeah looks like it
