I'm sure I've seen an Autoplay option. Let me have a look...
-
• #19453
Ah, it's Settings > Autoplay
But the setting is "Autoplay next video" not "don't fucking play as soon as you load, bastard!"
-
• #19454
Yeah that one is off, but as you say, its' a bastard. Now my office knows I watch wierdo anime videos in my spare time.

Mine just played "so ronery" that I sent to @General_Lucifer the other day.

I presume you've already tried DNS66?
-
• #19458
Nope. Isn't that Chrome plugin though?
Hmm, maybe not: https://www.ghacks.net/2016/10/25/dns66-host-based-blocker-for-android/

• #19459
Nice one, given that a go and seems to do the trick. Any way to link it to google account?
-
• #19460
I use it, not as good as ad-away was, but then again you don't have to root your phone to use it. Still provides good enough ad blocking
-
• #19461
No, you have to use RSS to subscribe to feeds.
-
• #19462
Do you use their standard German? DNSssssss?
-
• #19463
Their own servers? Yes no problems
-
• #19464
This seems to be the other non-rooted ad-blocker http://blokada.org/ Not sure if it's much different from DNS66.
Works pretty well for adblocking whilst browsing (as does DNS66) just giving it a try to see if it's more battery efficient.
-
• #19465
I've not noticed any battery issues with DNS 66, Ad guard seems to work too, but you have to pay for it.

New phone time, anyone have experience of the Huawei P10 (regular, not lite or pro)?
Currently £350 at cpw
Or suggestions for a sub £400 handset. -
• #19467
Admittedly I've only had mine for a week but loving my Xiaomi Mi 6. If you're prepared to go Chinese then you won't get anything better for sub £300.

• #19468
Where did you order yours from?
-
• #19469
Gearbest - got the Global version in one of their flash sales. Took 17 days to arrive after placing the order.

Not exactly news but something for Android users to consider

Does it have the 4G bands, my Redmi Note 4x was advertised with having the 4G band but when it arrived it was the international version not the global so no 4G. Not a massive issue but a bit of pain, but hey the phone was only £109 so couldn't complain.
Thinking of getting the Mi 6 just for a better camera does it come with all the google services?

My phone is telling me the sd card is not in. It is.
I've turned off and on again
I did that thing where you ' bind' the sd card to the phone. So er I would like it back.
-
• #19473
Remove the card and clean the contacts and then replace the card.
-
• #19474
It comes with some of the 4G bands (neither the global or international version have all bands) - i'm getting 4G on it from Vodafone.
Mine came with google play installed and it's running all my apps fine. If you want all the 4G bands then the Xiaomi Mi A is the one to get or the Mi Mix 2. I was fine with the Mi 6 as Vodafone are supported.

I had the same a number of times.
One time a few goes of turning on and off again, ejecting and re-inserting the SD card and cleaning off the contacts sorted it.
The other time that would briefly sort it (for 5 minutes maybe) and then it would fail again. It appeared that the card had become corrupted and it stopped working altogether pretty quickly after that.
Is there a way to stop the youtube app on my android phone from automatically playing the video I was last watching when I launch it? Can't find a setting anywhere.
