Good to know. So the loaner of the nexus 6 I have right now has an old Moto G that I'll borrow till the X Pure is out. so problem solved.

One Plus Two getting pretty meh reviews...
If my nexus 5 were to break again, it'd probably have to be the next nexus 5 or the moto x play.

broke my nexus 5 screen last night, which is a shame, because I really liked it. What are the options for reasonably sized androids (why are phones so big)? I would buy another nexus if it wasn't 3 years old and still available FS through Google...

The Nexus 5 is two years old on Halloween...

I think it's more likely hardware, I have read some comments etc online and it's actually not an uncommon issue. Oneplus official response (yeah right) is a dead battery. But in my case, I don't have to charge the phone up again before it'd turn back on, it's a simple case of plugging it in...

Moto X Play. Or wait for the new nexus 5, if it's even real.

I'd recommend trying the cm12.1 nightlies before completely giving up on it, although it's not sounding like you're having a great time with it... Unless you're already on them?

Anyone on here have a knackered nexus 7? I'm in need of a screen for one and wonder if there's a cheeky spare lurking around.

Sweet. My GPS isn't working so well these days. How do you go about getting a replacement?
-
• #16145
Call their customer service, they get you to reset the phone and generally try to silver it. If they can't fix they take your cc number and put a hold on it for the price of a new phone. They then send you a phone with packaging to return yours. Once they receive your old phone they inspect it and if they still agree that it is a warrenty they remove the hold on your cc. Ive been through it twice and it is pretty slick really.

Mine did that. Google it and there is a fix. Something like Up Volume and Power for 30 seconds... or something. Worked for me.

Got the EE Rook as a stop gap. Its really not bad for the price. Nothing like as good as the N4 but it cost 6 times less.
Recommended if you want a really cheap, somewhat capable 4G Android

Moto X (2nd) is going to Motorola Service Centre in Germany for its not-charging issue.
Anyone used their services before?
Any way of saving my data if I can't boot beyond fastboot?
-

Had identical issue with mine, I ran it down one night and it wouldn't charge overnight. I left it plugged in for a few days and then held the power button for a minute or two (while plugged in) and it came back to life. Was in the process of sending it back to Motorola for this issue (not the first time it's gone back, unrelated issue with headphone jack first time). They're good, they'll send you a DHL label and be quick. Last time (Feb this year) they sent me a code for a new phone, this time they were going to repair.

Can you get to the recovery? I haven't tweaked with my moto x much but you can do backups from there. It should show if it actually is charging on the fastboot screen to (I think, don't quote me...).
Do you think the issues you're having are hardware or software? With the exception of the sim tray, obviously. Have you tried the cyanogenmod nightlies? I've been running them on my OPO for ages and frankly I've got no complaints, no desire to upgrade to anything else. It's running fine.
