I never set any rules up. One day I just got some tabs at the top of my account that Gmail puts "promotions" and "social" updates into. I can add more if I want, though? This happened months and months ago. So maybe I'm misunderstanding what this actually is.

I've got labels for online-shop-newsletters, invoices, family, uni stuff, newsgroups etc, and I have to add rules to filter new messages into the labels whenever I have a new source of mail or one of them changes their from:address.

Mine just did it automatically. With magic.

But if you want to add more you need to define the rules.
Inbox may do that for you. With magic.

Or Bayesian inferencing.

So Inbox just offers more of these tabs? There are five that it allows me to choose (Primary, social, promotions, forums, and updates). How many tabs do I need? Eventually every email will just be its own tab.

Mail from Wiggle/CRC/Merlin/Ribble/Wheelies/Tredz/Cyclebasket should be easily group able by inference.

Got my Z3 Compact a couple of days ago. Such a nice phone and it feels great in the hand although is actually quite slippy, I've nearly dropped it a few times now.

I've put a Sumocycles sticker on the back for some grip and have a screen protector in the post

Anyone else's screen started to show signs of wear? I've got a patch on my N5, where I swipe the keyboard, that I can't get perfectly clean... It's weird...

I installed the OTA update manually today on my Nexus 5 using this tutorial:
http://m.androidcentral.com/update-your-nexus-lollipop-using-ota-packagesFirst time I fiddle with this command line and USB thing, worked like a charm (and no reset of the phone)

I also installed the ota update by side loading to the devices (nexus5/nexus7 2012) took less than 10 minutes each device. Very straight forward process. Nexus 5 seems a lot more stable than previous os. Liking the feel of lollipop. As for the old tired nexus 7 it works just as good as it was with kitkat. I've followed this link for downloads and instructions http://www.droid-life.com/2014/11/13/download-android-5-0-ota-update-nexus-5-7-10-4/

Lollipop update for N4 instructions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2mgh8o/nexus_4_lollipop_ota_link_and_update_guide/
Root not needed, shouldn't break future OTA updates.

Is the only way to update to Lollipop from Cyanogenmod 11 on Nexus 5 the full manual flash via recovery or is there an easier way?

fucking 4.4.4 - my Z2 now doesn't recognise my Sony MDR headphones, only the SMT10 stereo mic accessory- used to be an option to select one or the other upon inserting
AFAIK, with normal Gmail, you have to set up the rules yourself but with Inbox it works out what labels should exist and which messages they should be applied to, from the mail itself.
