I'm on a £15 tariff on 3, that gives me 200 minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited data. 4G is included if I have a 4G phone. I'd like to think that suits almost every pocket!

Nexus 5 still beats it, but the price tag is almost double.
For value the Moto G 4G beats the Nexus 5.

• #15055
Yeah, I like value!
^^^No 4G in Norwich from Three although EE have it. Will see if it's available on the Smart Pack thingy I'm on. -

If you put a non-4G sim with a decent data allowance into a 4G phone, so you get cheap fast data, 3g-only data or an epic bill?
-
• #15057
You get whatever your phone tariff is, not whatever the capability of the phone is.

Cool, wasn't sure whether it would effectively be roaming and thereby emptying my bank account faster than the battery.

Fyi, three 4G is throttled to 2 meg quicker than H. Or it was last I checked. Still the best deal I think. But don't expect crazy speeds. My ee 4G is often quicker than home broadband. But it costs more.

I just got 10MB up and down.
Frankly that's more than I need, it's rock solid reliable (the only gap I've found for where I go in London is near Barnes Common), and I can use as much as I want.

I did say I think it's the best deal (and one that I'm not on, but could certainly see myself moving to it), but not all 4G offers are the same. Just thought I'd say so.

On Vodafone I get 30Mb down and 15 up. I get 4GB (including tethering) plus unlimited texts/data for £15/month (although I'm not sure if you'd get it as a new customer).

So as I said up thread the digitizer is part of the thin glass front on the Nexus 4. Which means that because I've cracked mine the phone works fine (the LCD underneath is all good) but I can't unlock it or control it in any way.
I can buy the digitizer/glass front on eBay for £9:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Google-LG-Nexus-4-E-960-Touch-Lcd-Screen-Digitizer-Glass-Lens-/271384756337?pt=UK_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3f2fcac071So I figure if I buy one of these and connect it to the phone I'll be able to unlock it and get my stuff out of the phone which is currently trapped in there.
Sound like a plan? Anyone have a better idea? Connecting it to a PC doesn't work because it's locked.

Anyone know a good (cheap) place to get a SGS4 screen replaced? London based would be good, but I don't mind posting it off....

What do you need to get off your phone? It isn't all auto backed up to Google/other cloud services?
-
• #15067
Connect it to your phone.
Phone is fixed.
Use phone. -

Multiling Keyboard is very good for low end cpu Androids, amazing.

Had an interesting experience over the weekend.
Killed my Nexus 4 by fully discharging the battery due to shitty hostel power-sockets in Paris. Refused to charge no matter what. Went through the various options on here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/312151-solved-nexus-4-wont-turn-charge.html
none of which worked, but turns out it was as simple as taking off the back, unscrewing and unplugging the battery, and plugging it back in. Which is slightly frustrating tbfh, but hey, its fixed again :) -

The old fashioned battery-pull, but with a sealed phone. Convenient.

Thanks for the chat about the Moto 4G a few pages back, got one on the way. Is 3 my best bet for a SIM only deal?
-
• #15072
I'd go for it if I was looking for a new deal, been tempted to switch myself but I'd lose my free international minutes on T-Mob...

3 have got that "feel at home" thing now. 3 weeks in USA and I just used my own phone. If you have unlimited texts you're limited to 5,000 and unlimited data is limited to 25GB when roaming (in one month - so when I was abroad I crossed my payment date so I technically had 50GB while I was away).
Well, for the 2nd 2 weeks as the 1st week I didn't realise what the fuck they were on about.

Yeah, I've been on a contract with Three for 6 years. I'll try and haggle on a Sim deal when my contract expires next month.

Has anyone tried Sony attachment lens? Need a better camera, than my Nexus 4's. Not sure if it's worth it.
I know the Moto G is nice as my gf has one; just wondered how it stacked up against the Nexus (as that was the phone de jour for a while). General consensus is better I think. Might be time for an upgrade. :-)
