You kind of need to hold it until it activates, longer than just a press if that makes sense?
-
• #14555
Try holding them down at the exact same time.

Well Amazon Fire TV just been launched. Runs android! Just ordered one as it supports Plex so it will replace my RaspPi as TV front end

Do you have the option to do it from the power menu or is that just a cyanogen feature? If you do you can switch it on from settings/buttons, you might need to enable dev mode first by going settings/about phone and repeatedly tapping build number.

Plex is great, love it on my smart telly.

Decided to throw my sanfranscio across the bar while drunk on holiday, slightly cracked the screen (what a phone).. is there a cost effective way to replace the glass?
So I bought a replacement screen on ebay...
Unscrewed my old one and popped in the new.Seemed easy enough, until I turned it back on and noticed the screen doesn't respond to touch anymore.
So just put the old cracked screen back on... that doesnt work either now.
Fuk... Help.
Im having panic attacks from not having a smartphone to tell me where I am for the first time in 6 years..
Seriously. -

Have you checked all of the connections (img 3 on this link http://www.modaco.com/topic/335578-howtochange-the-digitizer-screen-zte-blade/ )?
Screens are made of two parts - digitizer and LCD, so it might be that your replacement only has the LCD part -

Thanks Branwen
The replacement is a digitizer as well and as its the oldone doesn't work neither must be how I'm connecting it up.
The link is useful, I thought the digtizer connection was infact an aerial connector, I fitted it but not very securely.
Not really sure how I mean to apply it as its so fiddly

Are you running straight off a computer's hard drive or an external? I can't get mine to sync my entire movie library, it seems to only let me see a few random movies...

Plex seems to be quite particular about naming conventions for folders and files. And you have to point it towards each folder separately if they're spread around different locations or drives.
I've got a folder for TV, a folder for Movies etc as a different section in Plex.
I love Plex, but I'm currently streaming it to my TV through my Wii U, and the Wii U browser is cack.
Roll on Chromecast!

My housemate's just got a chromecast for the house and it's awesome. Was using a raspberry pi using raspbmc previously for the same job, and (as you'd expect) the chromecast does everything a hell of a lot better. Lovely quality youtube and iplayer. Haven't messed about with plex or any of the paid movie services but for ease of use and quality of picture it's spot on.

Nice. My mate works for Google and he's been banging on about for months. It's gotta be better than some Nintendoh hackery.

I've been on CM10.2 for a while now and have only just found out about Privacy Guard thanks to the above. Just switched it on for a whole bunch of apps (including facebook) and feel a bit better about the whole thing.
Interestingly, you can long-press on an app from within Privacy Guard and look at the specific app-opps, how many times they've been requested and how many times denied.
The app ops also clarify exactly what the app is trying to do, so rather than Android's blanket (and scary) SMS/MMS warning - 'read all SMS/MMS regardless of content or confidentiality' the app ops states 'Receive SMS/MMS'. Slightly different.
Worth noting that according to app ops in my case FB has requested my location 10331 times and has NEVER read my call log or calendar, received an SMS or called a phone. I don't know under what circumstances it would do any of the above. I switched off sharing my contacts list and calendar from within the FB app as soon as I got it.

Facebook has been like that for a while, I uninstalled it when the upgrade required all the additional permissions.
App Ops under stock kitkat android can be used for the same, although you need a rooted phone to access it http://www.howtogeek.com/177915/how-to-restore-access-to-app-ops-in-android-4.4.2/
WhatsApp for instance runs fine with most of its permissions disabled. -

Synced over wifi, it picks up most films and tv no problem off my laptop and the wife's. My library is a mess too and most of the time it gets stuff right. There is the occasional time it doesn't find anything but I think that's the tv and is easy enough to fix with a few button presses.

Synched over wi-fi too, not working very well for me but I think that may be an Apple/Samsung situation... Shame...

It's an awesome system if you can get it working. I'm laptop > Now TV box via wifi and have had very few problems.
