what is the glass on the rear?
Is it the one with the little shiney glitter or plain black? I heard rumours that the glitter one may no longer be in production
-
• #10630
[strike]It is both, no? The shiny pattern is underneath the glass, and you only see it at certain angles[/strike]
Hmm, maybe, apparently the newer back is more tough too

I'm in HK at the moment, leaving tomorrow to go to Malaysia for a couple of weeks. If anyone wants a Nexus 4 with a 2 week lead time, you should probably let me know.
They're available over the counter here for around HK$4400. I've got a Santander Zero card so don't get stung for currency conversion on a credit card. Looks like at the moment that comes to a shade over £360 but I don't really know until it appears on the statement. -

Mine has sparkles :) It's pretty dark until you get it in the right light. I've also not taken the protective wrap off yet, so it's covered in fingerprints too.

Do you mean £260? Otherwise thats a bit pricey. Nope XE says £360 hmm
-
• #10635
Nah I mean £360. Prices here don't seem any cheaper than the UK - I'm after a replacement for the S3 I put through the washing machine and so far ordering from expansys and getting cashback from Quidco is cheaper than buying from anywhere I've found in HK.
Bear in mind Fortress is a bit like the Dixons of HK, so I wouldn't expect the prices there to be market leading. -

My view on buying tech in Hong Kong was more that you wouldn't get it cheaper, you'd just get it a bit earlier.

Nerding out... Currently using BubbleUPnP on my Nexus to browse my music on my Windows 8 PC, and play it to my Motorola Xoom tablet (also with BubbleUPnP) which is plugged into my hi-fi.
I should sell on the Xoom, but I like this :)

Just got a bit frustrated trying to USB tether my Nexus 4 with a Mac running Mountain Lion.
If anyone's tried to do this, the Android device does not show up in Finder - I think because Mountain Lion does not recognise USB MTP which is USB mode the Nexus 4 uses to try and connect (rather than USB MSC).
My workaround so far has been to install Android File Transfer on the Mac to transfer files etc.
http://www.android.com/filetransfer/
Unfortunately doubleTwist (which I use to transfer music using smart playlists in iTunes) also does not recognise the device so I am using Airsynch to transfer music.
Does anyone know of a more elegant solution until / if Apple ever decide to support USB MTP?
At least doubleTwist seem to be working on it:
