Weird choice of icon if so. This is the Google Public Alerts icon for flooding:

Load rating for bike tires.
I understand most tire failures to be heat related in the auto industry. Higher loads increase displaced tire and sidewall distortion causing heat accumulate... But this requires a lot of speed.
Why are there load bearing capacities on bike tires? Where does failure come from?
70psi in a wide city tire means a bike carrying 140 lbs would create a contact patch of only 1/2 inch each tire.
Seems it would be easy to handle almost 3-4x that load and contact only 2 square inches each.
Anyway....

What is the car advert that has a woman swimming and has lines such as "when you've sorted out your focus, work on your balance" and other such guff?
I think I may have only seen it when watching TV online (definitely BT Sport champions league last night and possibly ITV when watching the RWC) but it may be on broadcast telly too.

Do we consider horses to be so handsome because their face length / face width approaches the golden ratio?

Are you trying to justify something you once did to a horse?

Inevitably, it’s Mercedes Benz

Well, whether that's the case or not (I have no idea, as if anything I've always considered the 'golden ratio' stuff at best a very partial aspect of visual beauty), there are so many reasons why we like horses, and if we like someone we also tend to think of them as more attractive than someone might do who doesn't like them.
As for handsome, they have gorgeous eyes and many are very elegant in their movements.
Many horses have very sweet, gentle personalities. There is the aspect that we 'break in' horses to subjugate them to our will, but many people don't do that and instead just befriend them.

I'm not sure about that. There's a Mercedes advert with a woman "fitting triathlon training around a busy life" but that's not the one. No bikes or running in the one I'm thinking about.
Woman in an indoor swimming pool not open-water swimming.
(It's not about the woman, it's about the pool. Although it's moodily lit there's something about it that has lodged in my brain and makes me think it might be a pool that I used to spend quite a bit of time in: https://goo.gl/maps/fNzmny9iVc4xKBUA8 )

Personally I don't rate them, but thought there must be a reason.

Anyone had any good/bad experience with yellow Swissstop brake pads?
I Am currently using them but every ride I go out on small tiny stones seem to bury them selves into the brake pads and I have to pick them out after every ride. I’m only riding tarmac roads too. Maybe I have a weird set?
I used to use campag carbon pads before and I didn’t have this problem .Thanks

Just wondering now if my memory is starting to go -
• #99568
Ah, yes, thank you! Although that looks like that's the Irish version. The UK version is dubbed differently and doesn't have as much slvlss action.
But the pool shots are exactly the same and, thankfully for my brain, obviously not the pool I was thinking of. I can now sleep soundly at night.
(Goes to show how much of a shit I give about advertising. All I cared about was the pool and all I remembered was that it was a car advert.)

the english sounds like a tight arsed German speaking english and trying to be really persuasive while doing so

Is it normal for the jockey wheels on a brand new boxed mech to be little stiff (still smooth and not notchy at all)?

Is anyone able to recommend a good pop rivet gun, or are they all much of a muchness?
-
• #99572
Much of a muchness unless you are setting thousands of rivets.

Thanks. Bought a silverline one

Same as car tyres; if you overload they tyre, it overheats.
