  • That look like an uniguide style freehub?

It look like one without the thread

  • Dura Ace (maybe 7800). Got them second hand a good few years ago.

  • It was a 10 speed only hub with higher splines to stop the cassette digging in, rare and weird and stupid.

  • If you find the exact one you could check Shimano's documentation and see if anything is compatible, but I'd guess no.

  • Yeah the key reason why the 5700 etc. have that thin little spacer, which make sense.

    maybe just ditch the wheel and get a new one;

  • Thanks for the help both of you. Strange freehub, I must have lucked out with the last two cassettes I bought. I'll probably just get another 11-28 tooth cassette and roll with that. Nowt wrong with the wheels except this hub.

  • slop’n’play in a threadless coverted 1” fork. It feels like the lower bearing needs a small compression ring too. Does that mean it’s got the wrong crown race?

Is the answer to this: BUY A NEW HEADSET YOU DULLARD ?

  • 1" fork? Buy a new bike.

  • old bikes r shred

I think I’m gonna bodge it with an o-ring: a borderline-criminal/sawdust-in-gearbox solution, but desperate times.

  • V tempted to buy some Oko tyre sealant + the syringe for getting it into inner tubes.

Mainly for my dads bike as he struggles fixing flat tyres and he’d welcome measures to make them less likely.

Anyone used this brand or something similar? Does it work? Also do I need to buy the bicycle specific stuff? They sell it in a big 1litre bottle for cheaper -but it’s marketed towards tractors and the like...

  • I think it's different but still cheap on planet x, trying it at work but haven't had any testable situations yet.

  • Cool, went for it and bought the injection kit and sealant.. time will tell if it’s any good!

  • ye me 2! so i will make it work eventually!! :)

  • How long to get from Paddington to Loughton by train do you think ?

  • Can anyone confirm what size bearings are used in Goldtec track hubs?

I think they are 6001 and would like to order some replacements today but won't be able to open the hubs until later...

    Rear track hub 6001 2rs https://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk/6001-2rs-650

  • 51 mins, according to the CityMapper app.

Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus, then the Central line to Loughton.

  • Thanks very much - job interview tomorrow, didn't want to stuff up.

  • Leave yourself plenty of time for an interview, and work out exactly where you need to go on Google Street view. Last thing you want is to be rushing/late or anxious

  • What is this? Google?

  • For really important things I just ask on a random bike forum.

  • That's what the 'G' in LFGSS stands for, no?
friendliest search engine on the internetTM

  • Can anyone advise me what I need to convert this QR front wheel:

    wiggle.co.uk/cosine-23mm-alloy-clincher-disc-brake-road-wheelset/

To fit my Arkose Four fork, 15mm thru-axle, or if it's even possible?

Hub seems to be a Novatec D771SB according to the Q&A on Wiggle site.

  • Novatec D771SB

  • Can we rename this "Any question googled for you..."

    Googling the hub...

I did this too and it was literally the first result

  • 6001 1DU is what came out of my knackered rear hub.
I've never had to change a front one.
