Yeah. I've been going round and round on this for some months now...

Cross post:
Anyone know anything about PSE tests/harding etc?
Just had a super fast turnaround project fail PSE on upload to broadcaster and it needs to be delivered to them today.
It's a 30 second animation and the scenes are bright blocks of colour cutting/swiping from one to the other.
I'm hoping it's just some luminance brightness issues that can be resolved at a push of a button but if it's some re-animation I guess we're kinda fucked. It passed QC on Honeycomb but Clearcast is flagging the PSE.
I can PM a link to anyone with brains.
UPDATE: Solved with some grading thankfully, was just luminance as suspected so 2 frames needed a 10% reduction. Scary deadline is scary.

I travel light and want to treat myself to a nice overnight/duffel bag, looking at Ettinger, Ghurka, Frank Clegg, Chapman, Mulberry, what else? Never shopped at this level before, so not sure where I should start.
Gotta be less than 30l, leather or canvas - nothing techy this time around. -

What about an army poncho or tarp bungeed down? Is it near a wall or corner?

I've thought about this (typically).
Where I train is between shed and fence. And you would think, just stick something there. But. I have to take into account :
Height when I sit up straight on the bike
Appearance
Will it be visible over shed
How often will i use it
Cost
How long will it takeBecause of all of this I think the half / balcony style IKEA parasol is best.
I have thought brolly on bars somehow, or on wall of shed. -

I had the small field duffel a while back; a little too rough hewn for me and really disliked the colour combo (tan and brown). The zipper, though heavy duty, always was a pain because of the 'waviness' of the tin cloth. I know there are other colours available but no thanks.
What do you think of the companies I mentioned? -

Has the Mamnick Thread been deleted? And if yes, why?

No, just hidden. See mods thread.

Cheapest decent integrated IS42/IS52 headset is?
-
• #94162
There's nothing to an IS headset except the bearings, if you want to be confident that they are decent then make sure they were made by TH of ROC, rather than some no-name PRC factory. It's not that the mainlanders can't make good bearings, just that they are unlikely to make them for anybody trying to get lower prices than they do from TH.

Can’t really comment on the others, though mulberry have always been nice/pricey.
These days I prefer wheeled bags, less chance of me aggravating back/shoulder but they make me feel like I am one of those cunts on the apprentice.
Had just recently bought a Filson tin cloth jacket and it’s hard as nails. When cold it is so rigid it’ll stand on its own, once warm the wax softens.

Yeah and I’d just buy bearings because it’s way cheaper that way than when it gets called “a headset” but I need crown race and the top bearing cover.
There’s FSA on eBay for £22 or so but they’re all from Taiwan and I’m skeptical because actual FSA are c £40 -

Unsurprising, given that the factory is in Taiwan 🇹🇼
-
• #94166
Haha well I’ve no problem with them coming from Taiwan, pretty much the entire of my bike will have been made there. I just wanted to spend ~£20 in the U.K. so I could receive it this week.

Look like they might be Campagnolo😁
-

I knew someone would say that! Mea culpa!

What is the thing called which you can use to hold things in place eg v brakes whilst you secure the cable clamp at the desired tension?
I've tried "third hand" but that throws up stuff for holding circuit boards whilst soldering.
I'm thinking of something that looks like a mole wrench with wider jaws.

Know where replacements can be found online?
These should be the ones:

Thanks, I also had a tin cloth jacket for about 2 months, felt freezing cold in it the whole time, there is absolutely no drape to those things!

Needs the liner jacket or some kind of insulation inside or the cloth can pull heat out.
I love mine for its sense of armour plating, we have tons of brambles and it’s not going to get snagged on them. Once it gets warm it starts to shape to me. But when I get in the car on a cold morning it’s like I am wearing a cardboard box, and the shoulders of the coat are up by my ears. Once the car has warmed up it relaxes down and conforms around me.
Small gazebo? You don’t want the turbo/tyre getting wet or it might start slipping
