  • You can order replacement guts from Boa for free.
    https://www.boafit.com/support

The kit will include new ratchets which may help alleviate the issue. The only issues I have had with tensioner popping up have been when I have knocked it against something. Maybe for CX a bit of gaffer tape would hold it down better? I can help if you do go down the ratchet changeover.

  • Yeah second that, Boa are really good at replacement bits

  • Cool. I'll dig out the shoe and get in touch.

Thanks. The shoes are all kinds of weird at the moment tbh. I think the left heel comes into the pedal too much, they don't feel locked in (probably so I can unclip quickly if I need...), and then I know I've popped the boas up when just pedalling hard. (well, as hard as I can)

  • What event it happening on the 17th/18th november in central london with approximately 3000 attendees in the main hall and a side hall with some kind of booths?

I guess this starts with what venues have 3000 cap in central london / what constitutes central london.

  • forum drinks and book launch?

  • I may have one at work in the spares box, I’m back in tomorrow, will have a look.

Prob best pm me a reminder as I’m shit at remembering stuff like that.

  • what constitutes central london
depends on how far away from London the organiser is.

There doesn't look to be anything happening at the Excel Center or Tobacco Dock over those days.

  • Nor the BDC.

I'm trying to quote for some video at it but the agency is being super cagey about who/what it is - but I can't quote accurately (something I've explained) without more details so toying with just bypassing agency and quoting client direct if I can. This agency are turds so I have no qualms.

  • Olympia is the only option for anything of that size.

  • Maybe the Barbican or Old Billingsgate

Not just booths in a side hall though

  • @CYOA if ^that is the event, then PM for some insight

  • If you know the head shape and diameter, shank diameter and thread length I might have something that would work - not specifically a cycle part, but I can't imagine it being so unusual I haven't got something usable in the workshop.

  • Nah, it's 17/18 Nov not October. And I'm fairly sure it's not going to be this:

  • Anyone know the rear dropout spacing on a Falcon team banana frame? I've been toying with the idea of buying the frame on eBay but can't find this measurement anywhere.

  • rear dropout spacing on a Falcon team banana frame?

Depends on what exactly you mean by that. The early and/or low end ones would be 126mm, the later and/or better ones would be 130mm. I wouldn't worry too much about which you end up with, very few people ever died from shoving a 130mm wheel into a 126mm frame, should you be minded to go in a neo-retro direction.

  • Thanks for the offer @MrE. I drive by a fasteners business which might have something like it. If I don't get lucky there I'll PM you some measurements.

  • Much obliged. Not really to sure of the specs but need a new about town beater and this fits the bill. I expect it's of the lower end though. Thanks again.

  • I probably have.
If I do, it is probably in the shed, and I'm not going out there because dark.
Should be able to get out there before or at the weekend.

ETA : May clash with jj72's response

  • If you've got one, brilliant. I'll try the trade desk at the trading estate sometime this week as well. Thanks.

  • How many hours would a lawyer spend on writing a judicial summons for a relatively simple case?

  • What are the best full stayed mudguard to go over a 700 x 42C tyre?

It's for a specialized Sequioa if that makes any difference? it is a beast of a winter bike, but is a winter bike really a winter bike if it has no mudguards?

  • I have GB 60mm mudguards over 42 mm tyres, so much coverage.

  • I’ve got one here, yours if you want it. Pm me your deets and I’ll pop it in an envelope, unless you’re near N16

  • You're a star PM on the way. Thank you.
