Try not to smash knee into wall when it goes.

Wow, thanks Oliver, that is genuinely news to me.
It's so odd when something you thought you knew turns out to be wrong.

Place the wheel in the corner betwixt floor and wall. Push the end of the wrench towards...
Ah yes, makes sense. Thanks!

Cross Post from the homeowners thread,
Has anyone used the dfs stain guard protection package?
Had the hardsell and am dubious about how well it works. However, I am partially sold by the stain/replace warranty package that comes with it.
Cheers.

I have a leather sofa that has it. Not been particularly careful with it but it doesn't have any stains 10 years on.
Whether or not this is due to the stain guard I couldn't say.

Looked like you had plenty of fork end on that bike, hopefully it makes a decent difference!

Yeah, and they're smol. Also they don't slide off rendering themselves useless, like most rubber boots tend to after a while

I'm sure your parents and grandparents knew this and tried to teach it to you, so you must hope that your forebears forbear your failure to learn it until now.

Less obvious things to check for when you're being offered a frame + forks to buy?
-

Adjust your cookie settings; at the moment it's obviously deleting cookies on exit, which is generally a good thing, but it's annoying you.

not sure if less obvious but you wanna make sure there's enough steer tube on the forks for your ride position - check BB threads are fine - check any mech hanger is straight - check any bottle cage thread inserts are not loose - check for cracks; dents and dinks, have a look at the frame with the forks inserted and make sure it looks right

An LFGSS app? No. The site works extremely well on mobile, so there is no need. You just need to fix your login issue.

Cheers.
Its going to be grey material. I'm sceptical about the treatment, as it will depend on application and get worn off. But the insurance package at first glance sounds sensible.

What are my options for extra long 25mm diameter seatpost?
Anybody got something in a parts bin?
Parts bin bike build. Prefer cheap. Prefer not to squeeze 25.4 dia and damage the tube too though.

How long? #tester_approved Kalloy SP248 comes in 400mm × 25.0mm from your fellow forumenger's shop

Looks ideal. Needn’t be quite that long, but better longer than shorter. Prefer to find that from someone’s parts pile to save money though. Will bookmark link, many thanks.

You might get lucky if somebody was using a Kalloy as a placeholder while waiting for a Look one to show up, but you shouldn't hold your breath.

Got it.
This Alan/Masciarelli isn’t really worth spending money on. Might just hang up the frame until parts come along by accident.

tredz have the same post in black if that suits the build aesthetic, although forum lore suggests that you shouldn't hold your breath waiting for tredz deliveries either 🙂

Look and feel the same.
Reals are £100ish RRP
Fakes are £20 on AliExpress
