What are the odds of this working with a full length cable housing to a 10-speed SRAM Exact actuation derailleur?
This bike has no cable stops or guides of any kind, and I have everything bar shifters left over (the current levers have no working internals).
PS
I know the rear brake housing is too short. I cut it before the brake was adjusted as I was used to the arm going up as the brake is adjusted, but with single pivot brakes it turned out to be the other way round.PPS
If anyone knows of a better solution for the bottle cage, I'm all ears. Would rivet nuts be a bad idea?

I think it's difficult. SRAM pull ratio is so low that you need nearly twice as much cable pulled through compared to a normal shifter. From memory it needs to be able to pull about 30mm of cable to go through the whole range of the cassette. It might have enough but I seem to remember that most Shimano-compatible shifters only pull 20-25mm at most.
Not keen on TT500 bar ends? You can get a used set for £20-30
Edit: I need to mess with my derailleurs today, I can maybe try a Huret shifter on an Exact Actuation derailleur and see if can pull through the entire cassette if you like?

Would be great!

That was the initial plan, but haven't been able to find any.

I need an Apple TV. What will gen 4 do versus gen 3?
I know gen 4 can do Amazon prime and all the catch up tv.
Can I save 60 quid and get the gen 3 or should I stop being silly. -

Wait for generation 5 to come out so your choices get harder.

Or send to Rab and pay them to repair it.

Well bugger me, it works perfectly.
Top gear:
Bottom gear:
Shifter is on the top tube, you can see I can get into both the big sprocket and the little sprocket. Cable routing is a mess now and the cable was only barely long enough with this housing, you can see it just barely clears the clamp bolt
Will keep this derailleur on though, the cage spring is much better than the old one I had on.
Major caveat - it works for my combo of shifter and derailleur, cannot comment on yours!
Edit: proper bodge drivetrain, ancient Huret shifter, 9-speed cassette, 10-speed SRAM MTB derailleur, £10 eBay NW ring, Shimano Claris cranks...

Ace, thanks heaps! Mine will at least be all road parts, but Campag levers, Huret (or whatever I can find) shifter, Sram derailleur, Shimano cassette is a pretty scrappy mix too. :)

I still have a road bike frame with fork laying around. I was thinking about building up a cheap racer. I thought maybe a 1x11 group would be nice?
I saw this wheel and I was wondering if it would be possible with this:
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-aero-road-bike-wheel-rear-id_8379881.htmlHow do I found out what I actually need for the groupset? I'm a bit confused.

It will be compatible with Shimano cassettes but if you look carefully at the reviews section, there's a confirmation it's 10s compatible, not 11s. Normally product description will make it clear if 11s compatible.

Although if you're running 1x with a big cassette you can use an MTB 11 speed cassette on it.
-

Ok. I couldn't find anything about 10 or 11 speed compatibility.
So this should be a better option right?
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/aksium-race-road-wheel-set-id_8331679.html
Sorry for the newbie questions. Is 11 speed compatible with 11 speed? As in, can I the cranks and stuff from one brand, the rear derailleur from the next, the cassette from yet another brand?

You'll want your mechs and shifters to match. Probs easiest to pick up a new complete groupset.

Diclofenac is pretty good, either as pills (prescription though) or as voltarol gel (over the counter)
