shimano make one with two holes, which would allow you to position it further over. I don't know the part number though soz.

Cheers, but his one has two holes, going to go to a full outer at the weekend. If that's too shit PX do an extra wide one.

I have a steel frameset with a bent rear derailleur hanger - any recommendations on where to get it sorted in London?
Also idea of costs & success rate?

Cross post, but, what’s a Zipp 3000 front trispoke worth? Paint’s worn from brake use but no grooves into surface. Rough price please, no photo til Giro finishes.

di2 frame, non di2 bits? sjs does a cable stop down tube clamp so could run top pull front mech, rear mech could be all outer with stick on cable guides?

I would suggest just using a large adjustable spanner and a bit of brute force, but failing that https://bikefix.co.uk/frame-repairs-0

@PhilDAS (I think, or poss @Scilly.Suffolk) showed me a great way to diy fix this, involving a spare wheel. Worked perfectly for me, had the same problem on a steel bike. Am trying to remember where the thread was...

Depends how bent. I would assume lots of bike shops would have one of those hanger straightener tools - they come free with the Park Tools boxset.

I have one of those straightener tools if you want to borrow it

About 15mm bent.
I don't want to ghetto do it and snap it.
Ideally I want it done by a pro so the bike shifts well.

A friend wants me to remove his very frozen right side pedal.
He neglected to grease or oil the threads before installing it a few years ago.
I've only worked on it a little so far with WD40 and a long wrench and mallet, need to locate appropriate cheater bar.
Any hints to ease the process? Heat? -

Just read about the opposite, applied cold?

You can take the crank arm off, put it on a solid floor, concrete works best, rag underneath, put the pedal wrench on then apply your full weigh to the wrench in the correct direction. Jump on it if necessary :)
If its the drive side you will need bricks etc to keep the spider off the floor.
-

Can't quite picture that scenario, you mean with the chainring parallel to the floor or perpendicular?
-
• #91242
Chainring would get in the way

Ninja edit solving said problem.

^^ updated for drive side scenario.
perpendicular.
Concrete staircase is your friend.

I've only ever had to do this to crank arms with detachable spiders
that's probably because I don't own any cranks that have integrated spiders. #boastpost ?

I usually find you can apply enough force standing on the tool and the pedal with the bike lent up against a wall and only hurt yourself a bit when it moves.

Thanks guys, taken under advisement...

I don't 'need' a top cap do I?

You don't need an upper bearing cover, you can just slam the stem straight onto the compression ring.

now that velo house is closed whats a good bike friendly cafe in/around tunbridge wells?
I can hopefully save all my music, as that’s on an iPod. Particularly need to save all my DJ mixes. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to save the files from the iPod back onto the computer? I will then put it all straight on Google Drive!
