New chain time: is there any reason why a KMC Z51 won't work on a 2x5 speed from the late 1980s?
Or is there a more suitable alternative? Ideally available through eBay so I can pay for it (indirectly) with bakelite round pin plugs...

No. Anything up to 8-speed dérailleur chain will work.

OK thanks.
I've been working through the tester approves thread while drinking tea - just found a meaningful link to a chains thread - will try harder with Search in future!

Any suggestions for the best small pump to go on my bike (ideally with a little thing that attaches to the bottle cage bolts) that'll do about 100psi and doesn't screw onto the valve? Had proper hassle today with valve cores getting unscrewed and stuck in my current pump and it's not the first time that's happened.
Doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive, tiny or light, but ideally sturdy and reasonable quality.
Cheers!

B&q will cut sheet materials for you for 50p a cut or something like that. Watch out for mdf sagging with time though.

I have an older version of this one too. I think the last time I needed to use it was nearly 2 years ago but it's always attached to my bike at the bottle cage mount in case. From what I remember of using it, it works fine. 100psi might be hard to reach but is probably doable. No hose so it's handy to use something as a backstop if you're a vigorous pumper.

In an article about Syria: "A cruise missile is essentially a flying jet engine with a 1,000 lbs (454 kg) bomb attached to it."
Is this right? I thought they were more like a rocket. Dont jet engines (like you have in a plane) need an air intake at the front?
tldr: what are jet engines?

You are totally right a jet engine needs an air inlet. Basically it sucks air, compresses it and then forces it out by ignition of fuel.
Wiki has all the details it seems they must have a hidden air inlet?
(Waits for lfgss engineering team corrections :p)

The air intake isn't visible at that angle, it's underneath.

Your pic is an entirely different model*, but in general your right that it can be hard to see the intake because it is small to suit the very low thrust required and not always where you expect it to be if you're used to looking at larger aircraft.
*The extendable scoop inlet and cruciform tail mark it out as an old Tomahawk, the three surface tail and conformal intake seem to have arrived with Block IV

This one it's at the front, looks like a mouth.

guys, i am trying to finish my steel frame that i built with some friends this year, now i would like to know if there is a way to know if i need to face the headtube for the proper installation of the headset...or what would happen if i would install the headset without facing the tube
same thing with the bbracket... i manage to screw the bb in just fine by hand , so you guys think it still needs facing? bsa bottom bracket -

Facing doesn’t have anything to do with how easy it is to screw in, yours sounds like the threads are clean and it doesn’t need chasing.
Is it an external bb? If yes and there’s paint on the ‘face’ / they arent parallel then it may need cleaning up / material removed with a facing tool.
With the headset / headtube I guess it’s the same deal.
